Listened to this week's DL segment of the PodCast and was very interested in the comments about the construction at the DLH. Any idea how much longer this will be going on?

We're going to be staying there in early November and are just wondering if it will still be an issue.

We were also very interested in the review of Napa Rose. Its on our list to do while there!

There may be some large stuff going on during your visit. All that is known is it's supposed to wrap up by the end of the year. Some DLH CMs have said they expect the pool area(they are working on the last third right now) to be done in November, so that could be hit or miss for you.

Hope you enjoy your visit to Napa Rose. It's DW's favorite restaurant, and we always linger over a nice long meal when we go. See you on PCC 3.0. :)

We are at the DLH now, and construction is still going on. I had a long conversation with a higher-up CM here today, who said they are just finishing up a few rooms in the new Fantasy tower, and that the pool will be done "very soon". I asked whether it will still be themed as a Neverland Pool and he said no, it would tie in with the monorail pool/slide and go along with the hotel's "Classic Disneyland" theme. I didn't ask exactly how the pool would be themed, as I'm not sure he would have given me a straight answer ;).

Today I took some photos of the former Neverland Pool construction site. The sun was glaring on my windows, so the photos aren't the greatest. I'll take more tomorrow when the sun is in a better position. I'm here for a few more days, and am happy to answer any other questions if possible.

Thanks for the pix. Interesting how much they are doing! We weren't planning on any pool time anyway so we are only worried about the noise and inconvenience.

I heard that the Adventure tower is the better choice right now so I'll ask for that when we check in.

Tony, we're looking forward to PCC 3.0 and seeing you as well. But first we have to get through:
  • a 3-night DCL cruise over Labor Day,
  • a 10-night F&W trip at the start of October,
  • this DL trip in November
  • Disapalozza in December
:dance3:

Napa Rose sounds like its right up our alley. Unfortunately we only have 3-nights at DL and I'm not sure we would be up to doing much the first night after having flown cross-country and our body-clocks still being on east coast time. It probably wouldn't do to fall asleep in our desert. ;)

...and we need to set aside one night for dinner/world of color. Wish the November park hours were posted.

The Napa Rose is wonderful. I was reluctant to try fine dining through Disney, but was delighted with out choice!!!

That's a lot of Disney. :scared1: Enjoy it all. Someday, we hope to get out to Epcot for Food & Wine. DISapalooza sounds like it's going to be a blast. Can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures. DW and DS love HP, so they really wish they could go.

Just wondering if anybody can report on recent progress of construction at the DL Hotel. We're going to be there in just a few weeks!

Thanks for the great link! The pictures look really nice - I'm almost sorry that it won't be done by the time we get there next month. Almost, because this is a very short trip and we wouldn't have time for the pool anyway. I was mostly concerned with issues of noise and ability to get around the construction areas.

I LOVE the e ticket tile. What a great idea. Hope they have lots more. I was there last week and the DLH doesn't have those cute little shampoos and stuff with the mickey ears.

Just wanted to update this thread since we are finally here.

The pool construction is nearly complete. There is water in the pool, but it doesn't appear that they are letting guests in yet. There appear to be lifeguards stationed around the pool, which seems strange if they aren't allowing guests in yet.
