DL gate number that opens last minute?

What do you mean by "last minute"? The last DL ticket gate to open in morning? The one that opens the latest at night? Something else?

There's one that doesn't look like it is active, but then right before they start letting people in, they open it. I have it written down somewhere but now I can't find it!

Hi. It's 14. Just entered through it for the first time ever on Thursday - worked perfectly.

It works for either MM, OR when there is a regular opening!

It is astounding to us that more people in line do not catch on to this---works like a charm(at least in our experience!):thumbsup2

We used gate 19 and walked right up when all the other gates were swarmed with people. There's a tree in front of it so many people apparently don't notice it.

Sometimes the right hand line for DCA, if you do not have early entry, they sometimes open more to the right and you can move over.

Just a note of caution, though. We tried to use it in February...there were only about 20 ppl in the other lines, and we confidently strode up and got first in line at 14. About 30 minutes later, our line was still shorter than the others, which were wayyyyy back. At that time the CMs had been milling about inside the gates for a good 10 minutes. Then one of them, sort of as an afterthought, about 5 minutes before they started letting guests in, tells us casually that they won't be opening our gate. What?!? So at that point line 14 all started scrambling like cockroached and ended up at the end of the, by then, verrry long lines. Lesson learned for me; I won't try it again. It kind of put a kink in my mood, but it was still a great day.

We always mill about smartly near the gate they are letting the MM people in and right at opening it becomes a regular gate.

A number of times at WDW at EPCOT we arrive about a half an hour before opening and there two lines on the far left at just two gates. We head to the right a few empty gates away and just stand there and wait for someone to come over from the long lines and ask why we are standing there. When I tell them all the gates open at the same time, they look over at the two long lines and ask why are all those other people lined up, and I say beats me. Then we start to get a lot of company.

This post will explode in due time.

We've always been afraid of this happening, so usually get in one of the lines next to gate 14. If it does open, then the lines next to it often end up moving faster, because people jump over into the shorter line.

We saw this quite a bit on our recent DLR trip. People line up behind other people instead of going to a turnstile that has nobody in line. Great for those of us that know they usually open all the turnstiles at park opening. :rolleyes1

I'd consider myself lucky if I was informed before park opening. Even if it's worked before for you or people on the internet told you it would work, it's still a big gamble to stand at a gate not identified as one that will be open. I do however like the idea of standing in an adjacent line so that if it does open I can either hop into it or see my line shorten by others moving over.

That weird tic in human behavior has always cracked me up. On our last trip, we parked in the Toy Story lot every morning, and always arrived a few minutes before the lot opened. There would invariable be 20-30 cars lined up to the right of the ticket booth waiting to get in at the gate, and I'd happily drive up to the empty gate at the left side of the booth.

Hi. Just entered through 14, worked again. Probably took 1-2 minutes and we walked up to the lines just as they were opening the turnstiles. The other lines almost to the midpoint of the esplanade, but not quite.

I believe the other turnstile with a tree directly in front is 19.
