Ok, I have a few questions. We are going 1/30-2/3.

1. We booked out travel through WDTC and are staying at HOJO's. I am now wishing I would have done Candy Cane. I don't think WDTC offers Candy Cane....how much are they a stickler on if you want to change hotels? Anyone have an experience with this?

2. Does Build A Bear have Disney characters? If we are staying off site, how does it work if we want to ride the monorail over from DL and then need to get back to our off site hotel? (Keep in mind we have a 5 year old). Should we just taxi? How late does the monorail run?

Thanks!!

WDTC does offer the Candy Cane Inn. It is (I think) the only company that does book the CCI (other than direct booking) If you are more than 30 days from your trip there is a $25 change fee for your reservation, but you should be able to change without difficulty if there are rooms available.

You can ride the monorail to DTD, but its also just outside the gates to Disneyland and CA. Unlike WDW everything within the resorts are walking distance. If you are staying at the CCI, you can just walk to the hotel or grab the motel shuttle outside Disneyland.

We stayed at HOJO and it was great. Good food choices around, not bad of a walk and my dd 5 loved the pool. Make sure you call and request a room that is away from the freeway. Also, if there are fireworks while you are there and you don't want to be in the parks, you can see them from the parking lot (this was great because then I could get dd to bed without having to walk back after the fireworks.) Wherever you stay you will have a great trip, it really isn't about the hotel.......

Sounds like exciting plans for 2007!

Both hotels are well-respected on the DIS, so you can't go wrong. I would suggest bringing a stroller from home, as both hotels are a fair walk late at night after a long day on 5 yo legs.

Build A Bear has some Disney-style clothing exclusively sold at the parks, but not any "character bears" that I know of.
