I just saw this on twitter... But no info about why other than rumors of a bomb threat. Wondering when the news media will pick up in this!

A bomb squad is investigating and all entrances and exits have been sealed at Disneyland after park employees discovered a suspicious object there Saturday morning.

The employees spotted the object about 7:0 a.m. during a routine walk-through held prior to the opening of the park. The object -- which has not been described -- was spotted in a tree near the park entrance, police officials said.


Park officials called Anaheim police, who brought in a bomb squad to investigate.

A group of guests were let inside the park early, before the discovery of the object, but they are being sequestered in a safe area away from the entrance, police officials said.

All entrances and exits have since been sealed and no one will be allowed in or out of the park until the bomb squad investigation is concluded.

KCAL9 is reporting something similar. They said it was a package found in a tree near a ticket booth discovered by a Disney CM.

Here's what happened from my cast member friends on the inside.
Security during their morning round found something near the bottom of one of the trees in the gate area outside Disneyland park. It was a tube with a message on it, the message while not speicifc was spiritual yet threatening in nature. FOr precaution they evacuated the park and then a boy came forward saying it was his, and him and his friends were palying a game. Guests were then let back into the park. Disney is staying open later to accomodate guests that were put out due to this disruption. Disneyland park will remain open until 1am and California Adventure will remain open until 10pm.
Charges against the boy maybe filed after the pending investigation is complete.

mmm now i know what happened! someone at the rainforest cafe asked us about the incident and i didn't know a thing because that morning we went to la brea mall and we went to the parks after sunset.
now i know why DL was open until 1am, we still didn't make it that late, we had to go to the hotel earlier than expected. besides, they cancelled the fireworks so we were very bummed

i think it was that saturday that i tried to rent a locker and they had closed them temporarily, there was a long line waiting for them to reopen. they made a dog search for some artifact and when they decided it was ok they let us in. i never knew what happened until now
