DL doing anything for "May the 4th" this year?

Anyone heard if Disneyland is doing anything special for May the 4th (Star Wars Day) in 2019? Small chance I might actually be there and that might help me pull the trigger.

I haven’t seen any official word. But if you searched the info for previous years, you have an idea of what is usually offered. Maybe some photo ops, merchandise, a button, or meet & greet.

Since it’s on a Saturday this year, and SW:GE is around the corner, maybe they’ll do a little more than usual? But I wouldn’t count on it being anything major. Just a nice bonus.

I doubt they are doing hyperspace mountain. I checked the refurbishment schedule and space mountain isn’t on it, they would need at least one day to change and test the ride. I was hoping for it too!

I would love it if Hyperspace Mountain comes back!

But I am not expecting much. It just occurred to me that they have done stuff in the past and I wasn't sure if I'd missed any announcements this year. With SWGE opening later in the month I bet things will be low-key.

I had mixed feelings on this. For the most part, it was okay. It was kind of neat seeing the projections and hearing the music and sound effects while I rode. But the opening left me flat. You're in the launch tube, moving slowly, but the projections were showing hyperspace, so you should have been moving fast! I guess that's why I love Star Tours. It's too bad that couldn't be moved to SWGE.
