DL Crowds for 6pm closing 12/13-12/14

I can't decide whether the 6pm closing on Monday/Tuesday (12/13-12/14) will cause larger crowds or will keep people away from the park? I am assuming DCA will be crowded after 6pm, but will DL have lighter crowds?

It's tought to figure out. It's not a coincidence that those dates are chosen for cast parties. They were the slowest days for Disney to remove cast from the parks and not upset guests and closest to Christmas that they can afford.

What's help is people avoid going because of these parties, but the regular guest will have no idea until they are there. Information about events like this makes it valuable to follow one of these disney sites.

DCA will get very busy, this happens when DL closes early. You may want a FP to ToT, Soarin, Screemin or to see WoC in hand before going over.

CM's can enter for the party at 4. Our family plans to, but I'm sure that will vary. One thing now for the 13th is the "Pirates" contest that is happening. From what I just read online, people who win are also getting tickets into the park after the trailer. I couldn't find anything saying by how many to gauge if it will matter by much though.

Those "in the know" will (or should) go to the Park those days. Shorter hours, with less people, can be a GREAT Disneyland day.

However, many (out of towners) will be turned off by the shorter hours and make other plans that day and locals will not bother with the after work or school visit because there are not enough hours.

It's a nice day to visit DLR, imo.

ETA: And... 6pm fireworks! Can't beat that. :)

Yay! I hope you're right, Dreams!! Even though I did not initially plan to be at DLR over the CM party days (I thought I was avoiding those days and then they went and switched up the party dates to one week later than usual), I am hoping that what you say will be true (though I know there is nothing set in stone that crowds will be low, and it could change at any moment). I am not thrilled with the shorter park hours on those days, but if it means that the daytime will be not so bad, I will deal with it!!

Me too, me too, Sherry! :) That's exactly what happened with us to when we originally planned our trip, but maybe it will end up being better for us! Maybe we'll see you there! :)
