September 10th it shows Disneyland closing at 5pm. I read that it is for a CM party. Has anyone heard of Disney letting someone hop over to CA even though they only had a one day one park ticket on a day they were closing unusually early?
You'll need to have the park hopper option on your ticket if you want to go to DCA after spending the day at DL. At least you know in advance that DL is closing at 5:00 pm so you can decide if you want to spend the day in DL or DCA given that you don't have a hopper.
Since we're staying at GC we get the early morning hour at Disneyland on the day that it closes early. What happens if you have a one day one park ticket at DCA but the early morning from the hotel is at DL?
You need the park hopper option is you want to go to both parks in the same operating day regardless of which park is having EMH. Do if you decide to take advantage of DL's EMH, you will need the park hopper option if you want to go to DCA at any point during DCA's operating day.
Never heard of anyone getting special privileges due to odd closing hours (and there was a plethora of odd closing hours a few months back as DL was ramping up for the 60th). Basically the hours are posted so now it's in your ballpark to calculate if the extra evening hours will be worth the park hopper upgrade. Also keep in mind DCA will be extra busy because everyone with park hoppers or annual passes will end up in that one park. Yeah, it sucks you don't get as many hours if you decide to do DL that day but at least you know what you're facing ahead of time and can plan for it!
