How far out does the DL calendar typically go on the official DL website? I am trying to plan a Nov. 2008 trip, and yesterday the calendar only went through May 2008. Any ideas to help me plan???:confused3 :confused3

They release the calendar in dribs and drabs. I'm sure some here know he general opening times from past years, but other than that you just have to be patient for the calendar. :)

I was actually surprised to see they have May in the drop-down menu already; of course, nothing is listed for the May calendar yet. :upsidedow

Typically I think maybe the three most current months have information listed. At first they'll post basic information, like park hours, then they'll add information on shows and times and ride closures.

My experience has been that the information posted early on may not be reliable; shows may be added or removed based on projected attendance, park hours can change as well. But by about a month out, the information should be pretty stable and reliable. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much. I just wanted to start planning our specific days, and flights based on the calendar......but I will just be patient!

Bumbershoot: I love reading your posts! Where else can I get words like "dribs and drabs", and of course "faboo"--you're the best!

Alex2kMommy: Thanks also for all of your very good info. I will watch at the 3 month point, and then keep in mind that it can all change!!!

I think in general the month of November is a good time to go. Low crowds, and many (if not all) of the Christmas holiday decorations are up. :)

If you don't like crowds, you might stay away from the weeks at either end of Thanksgiving weekend.

You might check out some of the TRs from trips taken last November, they may give you an idea of what to expect crowd-wise and entertainment wise. Enjoy your planning!

Here's the funny thing......I was just THERE in November. :rotfl: But this trip will be COMPLETELY different!!! It is a completely kid-free trip. Just me, Mom, MIL, and maybe couple other friends. Totally chick trip...so.....I wanna plan it from that angle....which will be MUCH different!!

I always go for my birthday which is Mothers day weekend always. Friday and Saturday are open until 11PM or Midnight and Thursday was open until 7 or 8 I think. CA was open until 9 or 10 on Friday and Saturday. Opening was something like 8AM on Saturday and Sunday I remember.

Electric Light is going during that time too.

You are crackin' me up!!! You are right, it will be a totally different trip. Without kids, I would:
* Do a tour! Maybe even the Segway one in DCA, that sounds cool!
* Drink a big fat Margarita at Baja Blenders (did I get that right? In DCA...)
* Go in the shops at NOS ~ Many have breakables and I'm afraid to go in with DS3!!! :scared1:
* Stand in front of the castle for fireworks (Neither DS7 nor DH has the patience for that)
* Watch Fantasmic (see above)
* Check out the princess fantasy fair, just to see what goes on (I have 2 boys, 'nuff said) And to see little princesses all dressed up! princess:
* Stop for EVERY Photopass photographer :teeth:

I'm currently planning a quickie trip with just DS3 and me. He :lovestruc the princesses so we are going to have dinner with Ariel, stop and see every character he wants to meet, ride every ride he wants to, and in general not be as rushed as we are with DS7 and DH along. Wish me luck!

Oh yes! yes! yes! A2KM...you totally have my brain figured out!!! I loved your list! I have a 2 yr. old DS.....so in November we did: No parades, No fantasmic, No browsing in fun little shops. It was a great trip. It was just very toddler-friendly;)

I have been thinking about the segway tour...sounds like a blast! Have you ever done that tour????

Ok...that is just too cute!!! The princesses will just eat that right up! YOu will get some great photos!!!:lovestruc

ctamama, thanks! :) How bad is it that I don't even remember writing, or thinking, dribs and drabs? :rotfl: I do a lot of posting at 2am...:cool2:

I soooo want to do the Segway tour on my solo trip (tomorrow!). It doesn't matter that DH isn't there for it, as he's over the weight limit (FOR NOW! go Robert!) and we have a 3 year old, so we have to split things up anyway.

But I'll have to decide tomorrow and call to see if there are any openings Sat morning...

Bumber, you leave TOMORROW??? :yay:

We go in two weeks, can't wait!!! :dance3: :scared: :dance3:
