DL Aulani Models Open?

Does anyone know if there's even the slightest chance rooms might be available at Aulani sooner than the official opening date?

Since we are within the 5 month mark, I wouldn't expect there to be any change on the opening of Aulani DVC villas. However, since Aulani is a cash resort, I suppose they could have a soft opening for that portion.

I thought I had read somewhere on the boards that even some owners who booked villas were moved to hotel rooms because they were not going to be finished on time. So I would say that they probably won't be open sooner than the official date. I can't wait to see photos from the opening!

Indeed, Aulani models at both DL and Hawaii are open! But in Hawaii, it is one better because they aren't models but ACTUAL POOL VIEW rooms! I toured them 2 weeks ago and the lazy river was running and the view was breathtaking! Alas, no cameras allowed. Nearly worth the trip to Hawaii just to see the resort, though! Trip report on another DVC news site.

ALSO the guide told me that 1) self parking is free for owners, 2) kids club is free for owners, and 3) because there is a hotel portion, room service will be available! Nice perks in Hawaii!

Why no cameras? What a bummer...
