We got our DL Deluxe APs at the DL park a few weeks ago. Turned in our park hoppers and upgraded to an AP. We actually ended up getting $40off each pass. We brought the DVC Portable Perks booklet with us (you can get this at any DVC kiosk in DL or DCA) which listed a $219 Deluxe AP price. And I think Deluxe APs had just gone up to $259 regular price. Don't know if that was just a mistake on the cast member's part or what.
If you're going to DL for a few days, I recommend getting park hoppers and then changing them in for APs at the park, as you can get an early entry day with the park hoppers.
Also, be sure to carry the DVC Portable Perks booklet around with you. You get a DVC discount at most of the food places in DL and DCA, but none of cast members know it and I had to take out the portable perk booklet and show them before they'd give me the discount.

points are too pricey for my meager allotment during the summer, only chance would be a great AP rate (don't know if they even offer in the summer months).
For anyone going in April to DLR.
Getting an AP will also allow you to buy their version of Party for the Senses in DCA Food and Wine Festival. Only AP holders are allowed to go (and up to 9 guests). Check on that number, but I believe it was 10 total.
I'm considering buying it for that reason.
CM indicated that currently the discount is the same 10%; with possible better deal as the date nears next summer.
He did caution me that with an AP, even if staying onsite; you have to ask @ the hotel desk to determine if you are able to participate in the EE program...while 3 day PHs are guaranteed 1 day. I thought staying onsite would get you in on ALL the EE days during your stay.
We just stayed at the Grand Californian in August and took advantage of the Early Entry into the park. We had purchased DL AP's with our DVC discount and were elgibile for early entry as we were onsite hotel guests.

CM said it's only offered based on capacity projects (ergo the reason you need to check with resort desk)...we are looking @ dates around July 4th & last week of June which is supposed to be busy as it's the last week before the So Cal AP blackouts start.
EE is the only reason we'd pay cash to stay @ the onsites.
Early entry is an unofficial priveledge of being a guest at one of the DL onsite properties. It can be rescinded at any time by Disney. That being said, I've never experienced not getting in early when staying at one of the properties, nor have I heard of anyone not getting early entry while staying at a Disney hotel in DL. I think it's a good bet that you'll get early entry.
Also, to check for the best AP rates at hotels, ask for the AP4 rates. These aren't offered in peak season, but if your flexible in travel dates....
