DL AP discount question

Hi,
I was just at DL with a So Cal friend who just purchased an AP. In the list of bene's is 15% off of DVC purchases. I didn't read details, but I was wondering if anyone knew if they would combine that with the current $1200 off promotion? It would be worth more than the $400 something that the AP cost.

I suspect that they can not be combined. At least that has been the routine in the past. But it never hurts to ask.

We are AP holders and just bought SSR two weeks ago. The promotions CANNOT be combined (I asked also). Depending on how many points you plan on buying, the 15% might save you more money. The 15% is still cheaper than the $90/pt figure that is in a lot of the posts also. The 15% offer is only good until mid-April and then they are supposed to raise the prices to $101/pt.

I wanted to add that during my recent visit to DL to renew my AP, I discovered that the member discount only applies to new APs. I had let my AP expire, and wanted to purchase a new DL AP but they would not honor the member discount because I was in the system.

Our DL APs expired in October 2005. In December 2005 we checked into the Disneyland Hotel and purchased new APs with discount upon checking in.

I guess it depends who's doing the processing.

I'm reading my copy of Backstage Pass for DL AP. It says we get a 15% discount on a DVC membership and that membership prices begin at $15,150. That works out to $101 per point. So I guess a price increase has already happened.

I'm confused. Are we talking about a discount on a DVC purchase for DL AP holders, or a discount on DL APs for DVC Members?

I think it is a DVC discount to DL AP holders.
