DL and SoCa citypass question

1st trip to DL this summer and we are going to purchase SoCa citypasses. We are heading to San Diego for the first part of our trip and plan to visit SeaWorld first. I have read on this board-- somewhere-- that DL tickets must be used first. Is this just if you buy the pass at the gate to DL?

In 2008 we bought the CityPass from Costco and went to San Diego first. Disney was our last stop. We weren't required to use them in a certain order. However, I did see that if you buy them online from Disneyland or Universal Studios you have to go there first so you can pick up the booklet.
