DIY autograph books?

Anyone done diy autograph books? Got tips?

We are hopefully doing multiple character meals (180 mark on Monday--wish me luck!). And i am hoping for an Anna and Elsa fastpass for dd, plus we may hit some more characters along the way as our kids loved them the last time we were there. Ds will be 11, so maybe won't want to do the autograph book, but I definitely want him to have the option--I'm hoping he will do it! (Trip is a surprise so I can't ask him ahead of time.)

So how many pages should I allow? I saw where someone used cardstock, decorated and laminated a cover out of one page, printed a "photo" water mark on the left hand side and had the pages spiral bound at Office Max/staples. I'm not super crafty, but I could manage that much.

What size pages? I'd like to be able to have the photos either vertical or horizontal. But I also don't want the books to be huge. We will have a stroller so that makes it a little easier to carry them. Can you get 3 1/2 x 5 prints anymore? If so, then maybe 6 x 6 cardstock pages?

I did one for my daughter in February. There are great options on the creative DisSign thread here on the Dis. I used the templates found there and had them printed as photos at Sam's Club. I was able to choose the characters I knew we would see and printed a few of the we "might" see. I bought a spiral bound sketch book at an art store, you can also find them at Walmart and Amazon. I glued the autograph photos on the pages and left the page above it blank. When we got home I printed photos of my daughter having her book signed by each of the characters and glued those to the blank page. That way when it was open you would see her having the book signed on one page and next to it was the autograph.

I bought some Disney themed scrapbooking supplies and decorated the cover with her name and some ribbon. It turned out really nice and she had a lot of compliments on how personal it was.

On our first trip I used designs I found here on the Creative DISigns. I printed out a ton of autograph pages on blank notecards that were either 6x4 or 3x5. I placed them in a small photo album in alphabetical order so I could easily find them.

Post #15 gives step-by-step instructions on how to make a few autograph books, including links to pictures you can use. Everyone over on the Creative DISign boards is so helpful! You can lose hours/days looking through all that's available over there.

I use artscow dot com and just create a "photo book" with white pages & whatever images I want for each trip (I do journal books). This is the autograph book I made for my Dad last year.

It turned out GREAT and he got lots of compliments. The best part of this is you can add as many pages as you want, find the images you want with a google image search, and customize the cover! Because the books come from Hong Kong it takes a few weeks for shipping, but they have offers all the time for free shipping, so I don't mind waiting for the books to come.

I make my own books. I print personalized pages for each character we hope to see during a trip, 2 per piece of card stock. I add a cover page for the year of our trip, then punch holes and bind with simple binder rings. The characters are in alphabetical order, making them easy to find in the book. Once home, I print the photos for the characters we met and attach them to the facing page to the autograph. Last trip we ended up with 17 autographs / photos and I pulled out the pages for the characters we did not meet. For our trip in August I am recreating the book and hoping to up our number of meet and greets. We will have a head start with CRT and a FP+ for Anna / Elsa!

Just throwing this out there -- this past trip both DSs used a photo mat for autographs. It is absolutely my favorite souveneir from any trip! They each chose their favorite photo with a character to put, but all the characters they met have signed around the mat. I'd post a pic, but I can never figure out how to do that here!
