Dixie Stampede

Yes, you eat while you are watching the show. The seating is in long rows with tables running the length of each row. The food is really good, IMO, best of all the dinner shows, and I've been to Medieval, Pirates, Sleuths and Arabian.

For February, you do have some time to plan so you can wait a bit before reserving, even waiting until mid-late January to see if Dixie is running any specials following the holiday season. As far as ticket discounts, if you are a member of AAA, the AAA Florida offices have great prices on vouchers for Dixie but I'm not sure if that would be convenient for you.

We did this show in Jan. and overall had a great time.

What to expect: You have to decide before you go in if you want to buy drinks, if you are not sure you will have to pay more for them once you are in. The pre-show in my opinion was a way to get you to spend extra money from the drinks they want you to buy.

On your way in you are directed in such a way that everyone gets their picture taken so they can try and sell them to you at the end of the show. It goes fairly quickly but again a money maker. You will then be guided through their general store area so as not to miss any souveneir dollars. Next is the pre-show and then finally you get in to the real show.

Once we got to that part is when we finally had fun. It was a great show and the food was quite filling and tasty. We were also in the front and my dd was picked to be a part of the show with a group of other kids. She got a really nice medal that she still displays and is very proud of.

We think the preshow is fun. Make sure to get there in time to get a seat. We never purchase a drink, unless DS wants one. DH & I never get one, because once you get into the show the drinks are unlimited. Our pictures have always turned out great, and we've always purchased them. I love being able to fix up a little, and get a good family picture. :) It all depends on what kind of experience you're looking for. You can get the extra goodies, or not spend anything beyone your admission and tip. They are not the least bit agressive in trying to get you to buy the pictures, or anything else.

You can't really compare them. They are two totally different shows. If you can go to both, I would definitely say do that. They are both great shows.

I'm confused. (Happens alot lately  ) Do you not get drinks with your meal? I prefer water actually. Can anyone clear this up?

Yes. Drinks are included with your meal. The purchase of drinks only comes into play with the pre-show which is held in a completely different room than the actual show. After you enter the building and have your photo taken, you are ushered into the pre-show area. It is here that you can purchase an alcoholic beverage or soft drink if you desire. No food is served during the pre-show. After the preshow, you are led into the main arena. Here, all food and beverages are included with your admission price.

Hope this clears up your question.

That does clear it up for me. I'm planning on taking the family for their Christmas show next year.
Thanks,
Kimba
