Dixie Landing?

Hi. I have noticed alot of people have stayed at Dixie Landing but have not found any info on it. Is it still open? If so, where is it? Trying to learn as much as possible. My first trip is in 5 days! already planning second though. THanks!

Dixie Landings is now called Port Orleans Riverside, the sister resort of Port Orleans French Quarter.

I stayed there 3 times when it was Dixie Landings. Now it is called Port Orleans Riverside; sister resort to Port Orleans French Quarter (which used to just be Port Orleans).

It's a gorgeous resort. My favorite onsite. It's very pretty and elegant. Really makes you feel like you are in the old south.

Still DxL for us!!! I don't think we will ever get used to calling it POR, but I force myself here on the boards.

We love this resort. It is beautifully themed. The landscaping is some of the best on-site. Transportation is good, the food court is even acceptable. You can stay either in the more formal 'mansion' section of Magnolia Bend or the rustic 'shanty' type section of Alligator Bayou. I have AB requested for our June trip. Here's hoping!!

Thanks for the info! We are staying at All Star Sports.One of my kids is going to room w/ my in-laws.I have 4 kids(9,7,6,1).When I go back in Feb.2006 I will need to have a room we can all stay in.Anything big enough (and affordable)that anyone wants to reccomend?

Parts of POR (formerly Dixie Landings) hold 5 people, there is a trundle bed and 2 doubles. The cabins at Fort Wilderness hold 6- a double murphy bed in the living room, a double and 2 twin size bunks in the bedroom. More than that, and people here recommend either renting DVC points (see DVC forums here) or 2 connecting rooms at Pop or All Stars.
