I wore beige and kept my mouth shut at my son's wedding and it was a lot harder than I anticipated! (I consider myself pretty laid back about these things, but it was surprisingly hard to keep my opinions to myself and act enthusiastically supportive about everything they wanted.) For my younger son's wedding I still plan on keeping my mouth shut and being enthusiastically supportive but I'm really hoping to get to wear blue or green or something more flattering to my color!

Let me know if you'd like to borrow a beautiful little orange number; gently used.

Just curious...why wouldn’t you just have the bride and groom instruct you what to do and not even mention it? It truly is about 30 seconds of the entire day. This wouldn’t even be on my radar.

I know he won't have me walk down with my ex, I was just wondering if it would be appropriate for one of my other boys (each a groomsman) to walk me down.

I think the consensus is it wouldn't be inappropriate, if it pleases the bridal couple. There doesn't seem to be any specific etiquette for this. I hope you all have a very happy day.

Totally agree with this. At our wedding, BIL walked MIL down the aisle, and everything was fine.

I think it would be just right for one of them to walk you in!

I don't think they would be able to walk you out, though, as they will be matched with bridesmaids at that point. (I think it's OK to walk out on your own, though.)

At both of my children's weddings the officiant's told us how it was going to go.
My daughter married 13 years ago at Disney, The officiant had my husband walk me down the aisle and we went on the alter and lit a candle, he walked me to the pew and went around the side of the pavilion to the back to walk our daughter down.
My son, the priest said my husband and I would both walk him down the aisle.

At my daughter's wedding, her dad walked her down, and my dad walked me down. My ex's mom, who is a widow, was walked by her sons, one on each side.
No one seemed to care though, all of the attention was on the bridal party.

... I was walked down the aisle by my Grandson who was 10 years old at the time. He was so happy to be included and it was a sweet moment for both he & I. It was one of many, many special memories I have of my Daughter’s amazing wedding day...

My mom was escorted down the aisle by my 5 yo nephew. Grandma and grandson (in his little tux) were beaming with pride. I love those photos.

Haha this brings back a funny memory for me because my mother made a huge deal about wanting to walk me down the aisle. I wanted to walk alone (my father wasn’t at the wedding) but my mother made a horrible fuss about it and I gave in. On our wedding day, my grandmother shocked DH & me by suddenly appearing at the back of the church and walking out into the procession apparently she also wanted to walk down the aisle but didn’t waste time fighting about it, she just went for it. My grandmother’s brother ended up getting up to escort her (she needed assistance walking) and for my mother on the walk back down, she walked alone. I half expected her to try to make it a threesome with DH and me!

OP I would just ask your son and daughter in law with plenty of time in advance what they would like. They may not have thought about it. I’m not sure what is traditional, as I mentioned my single grandmother was escorted by her brother and my mother walked solo for the trip back down the aisle.
