Divorce

Yup, that's right. It's official. My parents are filing for divorce.

I won't say what happened last night, my family found it rather embarassing. But that little situation hit the switch.

I don't know when it's going to happen. All I know is that it's in the next few weeks, and it won't be easy, especially on my five year old brother who doesn't understand. It'll be tricky explaining to him why "mommy and daddy can't live in our house" and why "mommy and daddy yell all the time"

I feel bad for making a whole thread on it.

So, any advice, or similar situations?

Oh I feel bad, although my parents are still together i have many friends who have gone through the same thing the only thing i can say is that i really hope for you and your brother's sake that it doesn't get really ugly my friend's parents got divorced and it got really bad and i really hope that doesn't happen to you

Aww Shelly i know how it feels but you have to understand its for your own good, you dont wanna live in a house with yelling all the time. But no matter what your parents will love you, i know its hard to see this but you'll get through it and see the good of it. Many hugs to u shelly =]

My parents divorced when I was 3 and then my mom got re-married about a year later to my step-father.

But I see my dad every month, and now that I'm older we spend more time together but when I was younger there were still arguments while I was going out there.

But I can sort of understand how you feel. PM me if you need to talk.

My parents got divorced when I was four. I never had any problems with it. I actually liked it sort of. I got two christmases, two birthdays....etc.

However, it's tougher on older kids. I wish you and your brother the best.

I, like many here, have been through it. It's just always best to remember that it truely is what is best for you and your family, even if it may not seem that way now. I'm obviously not sure how your living situation will go but it really is for the best.

i am so sorry that this happened to you. my parents are divorced, too, but i dont remember it at all...this must be hard for you
