I was just wondering if anybody out there has gone through the process of changing the names on the deed. I'm quite unclear as to the process. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you still owe on any of the mortgage, you may have to wait until it is fully paid to remove any party from the membership.

If it is fully paid, you'll need to contact DVC for a waiver of the Right of First Refusal (assuming one of you want to keep the membership), and file a new deed with Orange County (assuming you own at WDW) or wherever your resort is located.

Again, the fly in the ointment may be any outstanding mortgage.

I suggest you call Member Services and find out the process.
Actually, it's Member Administration that you want.

From what I've read, it's a pretty simple process, especially if the ownership of the DVC interest is specified in a property settlement.

As Chuck said, if the DVC ownership is financed, that makes everything much more complicated.

It's as simple or complex as you want to make it and likewise as cheap or exepensive as you make it. If it's paid off and you're willing to do a little work yourself and use a quit claim deed, it can be done for under $30 for a single contract. Contact member admin and they will give you additional info.
