I've been lurking for months and we've finally booked our trip. We are staying at POFQ May 14-21. We'll be traveling with 3 kids under 5 and 3 grandparents. Upside, DD is 2 and so we don't have to pay for her, downside we just miss a Grand Gathering, LOL.

Now for my question. Instead of individual Easter Baskets we do one big family basket. I'm using a Disney theme this year to kill 2 birds with one stone. So far I have:

Beach towels for the kids
Sunglasses
Water floats
Disney for Kids by Kids book
Disney Scene It game (we always include a family game)

And yes, the basket is pretty big every year for a family of 5 but cuts down on the "That was in my basket" fights.

Any other suggestions? I'd also like to send down 3 small packages for the kids to find from Mickey in our rooms so we might put some of the easter gifts in those packages instead.

Love the boards, but boy is it overwhelming!

TIA,

Carren

Hi Carren and welcome!!

You might get a bigger response on one of the Just for Fun boards rather than the resorts board. There's a community board and one devoted to crafty kind of things.
Why don't you try your question over there?

Good Luck!

Welcome! :sunny:

We did Disney Easter baskets last year, and will be doing them again this year in WDW. I can think of three things right off the bat:
1. Fat pens for the characters to hold for autographs.
2. Small paper tablets/journals. The kids will love to color/draw in them while waiting for things in the parks, on resort busses, etc. A real life saver for my kids.
3. Pins! Trading pins at WDW is fun for the little ones. DD started trading them while in kindergarden and loves it! She just trades for the "pretty"ones- we don't care about the values. We buy them when they are on sale or on the phone from Disney outlet stores for at least 1/2 off, and put them in plastic Easter eggs. She goes nuts for them!

Hope this helps, and have a GREAT trip!

Put Disney Dollars in Easter Eggs. The Disney Store also has lots of little easter-y things like magic towels, pens, lollipops, mini beanies, etc.

I have been wondering about this also! :teeth: Are there Easter type things to buy in the parks or at Downtown Disney??? Like T- shirts, pins, beanies, candy, etc.?? :confused3

Welcome to the DIS!

World of Disney always has holiday items. We were there last week and they had a display of St. Patricks Day items. I'm sure that they had Easter items too. :sunny:

If you have a local Disney store, check there as well. :flower:

I would include Disney themed stickers & coloring books along with crayons. These are great to have to keep little ones busy at restaurants. Other ideas are beanies, autograph books and fat pens. What about Disney cd's and/or dvd's to keep the kids occupied until your vacation?

Our daughter loved the Disney Sing A Long videos (I've never seen them on dvd) that take place in the parks. We have Campout at WDW, Beach Party at WDW, Flik Animal Kingdom, Halloween at Disneyland, Christmas and a Circus one. These tapes were great b/c they showed footage throughout WDW and my daughter got to see what the characters were like so she knew what to expect.

You could also include Thumper

and/or Rodger Rabbit.

Great idea! I've been getting tons of stuff for DS, my nephew and little cousin for our trip in May to make them gift bags. I've been feeling like anything I get for DS, I have to get them too. THis is a way to get him some of the things I've been wanting to get him and didn't want to have to get all the kids. I have bought them so much stuff, they don't need anymore, but there are a few other things I wanted to get DS. I'm thinking I'll get him some disney sunglasses (buzz or mickey) a disney light up pen for autograph signing and maybe an autograph book of some sort. Plus maybe some stickers and such. Now I'll have to be on the hunt for that type of stuff. Thanks for the idea, DS will love it!
