Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

What a great update! :goodvibes

You know how artsy I am, so of course, I love to see the kids faces painted! They got some beautiful designs this year, and I love the photo that you said you framed. That's a great shot of them.

Sounds like you guys are having fun!

Hope you're having a good weekend CP! How's school going?

I can't believe how long the waits are for the fairies...I think you made a good choice not waiting all that time for them that long! :thumbsup2

Love the kids face painting! Connor really looks like a dragon, I've never seen one that like...so cool!

Looks like you guys had so much fun on the teacups! We didn't ride those on our last trip because I don't trust Chris to not spin it out of control and make me sick. Even if I said not to, he still would

IF I haven't said so I love the facepainting.

Sorry you missed the fairies. The same thing happened on my trip too. That lineup was just way too long. Maybe next trip.

Awww, I love Chelsea and Connor's face painting!!!!! I will have to remember to do that for Hollie when we go.
Oh, I remember what Hollie's first ride was....it was Jungle Cruise. For some reason that is always our first ride. We usually head to the left and circle around. Although...with the lines at meeting the fairies..we now have new plans. Head to fantasy land then I get in line for rope drop (we did that in November of last year and it was perfect!) then head straight for Neverland! :goodvibes

I love the kid's painted faces!

I wonder how many times we walked right past each other in Toon Town that morning!

I'm impressed that you guys aren't bright red and dripping sweat from that oppressive heat! :thumbsup2

75 minutes for the fairies at 10 am!!! What??? :scared1:
My DD is constantly talking about meeting Tinkerbell, Silvermist, et al - I guess we'll be wasting precious MK am time waiting for ToonTown rope drop!
What a great picture of your kids on the teacups!

I've never noticed the mouse in the tea pot before!
I guess I need to go back just to see it!:thumbsup2

Wow. That was a long wait time for the fairies. Sorry you didn't get to see them. Maybe next time! Always good to have a reason to go back.

The face painting came out so well! They both look fantastic! And bonus, they do actually look like they like eachother in the picture. ;)

I have the 4 Parks CD but haven't listened in a while. That should put me in the Disney mood today! :)

Wow, quite a long wait to see those fairies...we might be skipping that in December. Chelsea and Connor's face painting looks like fun! Ha ha, and I can't tell you how many times I've heard "ok, now act like you like each other" while a picture was being taken. So much fun! :)

I can't believe it was a 75 minute wait for the fairies at 10 AM! Sorry you missed them, that's such a bummer. At least Chelsea and Connor got some great face paintings to make up for it; they came out sooooo good. I've seen the Tink facepaint before, but not the dragon -- I love it! Oh, and the 4 Parks, 1 World CD, we have and love -- it's so nice having all that Disney music on one CD.

I love "act like you like each other." :rotfl2: I've heard that one a few times, especially with my brother.

I remember you mentioned reading "Mousejunkies" -- my mom told me last night that she ordered it! I'm so excited to read it. I'm hoping that we can take turns and trade it off. :rotfl:

Awww! That stinks about Tink! Crazy lines! I am going to try to get my DD there right at the rope drop when we go in Dec so we don't have to wait! I don't think I can handle the super long wait either!

Can i just tell you how much I appreciate that you put the page number in your title whan you do an update. It makes reading along SO much easier.

Chelsea and Conner on the teacups with their faces painted are totally adorable, I see why you printed that one.

Bummer that you didn't get to meet Tinkerbelle but I don't blame you at all.
A girlfriend who i travel to WDW with always in January realized how spoiled we were when 20 minutes was too long to wait for Malestrom once :lmao:

Lynn

Looks like everyone is posting tonight!! :rotfl:

Saturday night did seem to be a popular posting night!

Hey!!! What a great photo of your two kids!!! how adorable, I understand why you have it framed :goodvibes

Thank you! It makes me smile while I am doing dishes.

The facepainting looks like fun! I may see if either of mine want to do that next trip -- how long does it take? They look great!!

It was so quick -- maybe five minutes tops!

YIKES :scared1: on the fairies!!!! We don't have fairy lovers in my house, needless to say -- now if it were Jack Skellerton, well THAT would be a different story! There have been lots of reports about the mad dash to the fairies!!! I think Chelsea looks very much like Pixie material anyhow!!! ;)

I thought we were doing good to be there right at 10:00 when Toon Town opened but apparently not.

And of course the Tea CUPS!!!

Sounds like this MK day has so far shaped up to be a great morning!!!

We had a lot of fun, and it is far from over!

I did NOT get to purchase that dang CD, CP!!??!! I did see it at the OKW gift shop on afternoon, then forgot to go get it, and then tried to look for it on my last day on Mainstreet and had blanked out on the name and didn't see it there... SO I missed it! BUT I do see it is on Amazon... not the same, but I want Disney stimulation NOW... I can't wait until Dec!!!

:lmao: I understand -- I have been browsing the Disney shopping site and ebay tonight because I need a Disney fix!

Love the update. The picture of the two face painted and all is just too darling. I totally would not wait that long. I know it was fun and all, but I cannot imagine that type of wait in line.

Even if we had decided to get in that line, we never would have lasted.

The CD must be a bit different than mine, you have the updated version... how can I justify getting that?

Does yours have the song from the Grand Fiesta ride? If not, there is your justification right there -- how can you not own that CD when it is your girls' favorite ride? ;)

Great face painting! When you sat in the chair did you mean that they gave you a hard time and didnt want you sitting there? Because for 30 bucks they should have been rubbing your feet!

Yes! I sat down in one of the empty face painting chairs and the CM (very politely, I have to add) said, "I am sorry, you can't sit there." I was simply aghast! It wasn't like I was stretched out in it and ready to take a nap.

60 minutes (or 75) for fairies? I'm not a big character person so that is an easy NO in my book!

Oh how I  Minnie's house!

Silly me, I assumed when I saw the pic in your siggie that Connor was of course...a bat! :lmao: Love the Tink face...I would have to get that if I ever get to do MNSSHP

We don't normally do characters, but Chelsea and I wanted to meet Tinker Bell -- but not after waiting that long!

I love Minnie's pink color scheme! LOL!

I really like the Tink face paint as well. Anything with glitter attracts me. ;)

Great update! I love the face painting. I tried to get Danielle to do it but she turned me down. Ya'll look like you're having a blast on the teacups.

Thank you! My kids are suckers for face painting. They love it!

We always get a kick out of spinning on the teacups!

Loved, Loved the update Jackie!!!

I think I would have made the exact same decision...I'm not a waiter and 60 minutes would have been a long time to wait!!

Love the face painting and the picture of them in the teacups is just amazing!! That would have been a keeper choice for me too!!!!

Glad you guys had a great morning at MK!!

I'm on a mission to find that CD when I go in the fall I want to listen to all the songs (except IASW LOL...that song can only be listened to once and I'd better be in a boat with a certain gnome LOL)!!!

Thank you! I have a hard time standing in line for 20 minutes at Walmart on a Saturday -- I knew 75 minutes was beyond all of our capabilities!

Sometimes I think a daily ride in the teacups would keep all of us a little bit happier! LOL!

I saw the CD lots of places throughout Disney so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Come on, now, IASW is a lot of fun to sing in the car really, really loud.

It looks like you had a great time on those teacups! Very cute pictures of all three of you...

Thank you!

75 minutes for the fairies is a big no in my book as well.
Are you guys going to MNSSHP? If so you really should do the face paint, you would look adoreable!

I can't think of anything I would wait 75 minutes for! We don't have any plans to go to MNSSHP, but I keep hoping I will change Charles's mind while we are down there.

I'm not surprised at all by the fairy wait time. Wouldn't it be great if you could FP the fairy line? Your own personal Tinkerbell is awfully cute, though. I agree with you and all of the other posters who just love the tea cup picture of the kids.:lovestruc The picture of you is awfully cute, too. Who was the photographer?

Thank you! I think Chelsea took the picture of me -- I just wish my face was so shadowed.

You got some great pics in Minnie's house! I want a bulletin board like Minnie's too (only not shelacked;))!

:lmao: Yeah, I don't want mine to be shelacked either.

Totally love the "palm" tree :rotfl:

I always get a chuckle out of it when I see it.

The kids face paintings are amazing! I love the picture of them on the tea cups too! Total bummer about the fairy wait line..I guess that's always one good thing about Disney..there's ALWAYS something new to do next trip! :goodvibes

Thank you! I figured we would just push our meeting with the fairies to the next time list -- another good reason to make another trip down there. ;)

I am just loving your trip report!! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! I am so happy you are enjoying it!

The kids' faces look great! Thanks for writing about Toon Town. I know that Wendy and the kids will want to do Toon Town and the tip about needing to get there at rope drop is very helpful. Thanks.:)

I don't like waiting in lines either....

Love the face paint! I dabble in face painting at events at our school so I admire the work!

It's always hard for my two to choose what they want...

That long to meet the fairies huh? I would not want to wait either. I'm good for about 20 minutes and then I get antsy!

20 minutes is about my limit as well!

And I am going to check out that CD! That would be a great souvenir to carry one through the long days between trips!
Allyson :)

I love it! Lady Lallie told me about it before I left (she bought one on her May trip), and I honestly think I have played it every time we have been in the car since then.

To see the Fairies in a reasonable time, rope drop is a must. They are some popular girls! We were there at rope drop, and seeing the Fairies was a great experience. They were so interactive with the girls - lots of silliness!

I cannot wait to see all the photos on your TR! I bet Brooklyn was in 7th heaven meeting Tink!

The kids' faces are cool!

Thank you! The kids love getting it done, but Connor was cracking me up -- he insisted on wearing his glasses afterwards, and the frames were just smeared with the face paint by the end of the day.

I like the Teacups, but I'm not much of a spinner. I like to try to get the mouse popping up, too, but you just have to shoot, shoot, shoot, and hope you capture him.

Next time that's what I will do.

Between wigd's Main Street pictures and your Teacups pictures, I'm dreaming of being in Magic Kingdom this morning!

What a wonderful place to daydream about! :cloud9:

Awww, it was fun seeing your signature line photo larger!!!:goodvibes I can't believe they gave you grief about sitting in the chair?!

I was a little surprised -- I was only sitting on the edge of one, we were the only ones there, and it wasn't like I was wallowing away in it.

You all looked like you were having so much fun in the teacups!

Looking forward to tomorrowland!!

We were having a blast in our teacup!

LOVE the face painting!!!! I hope my kids want to do that, Chelsea looks gorgeous, and Connor's dragon is so cool! I'm with you guys on skipping the fairies, I don't think I could wait an hour to meet anyone.

Thank you! They have so many different designs to choose from that I bet your kids won't be able to resist!

We love the teacups too, except for DH, who's not much of a spinner. Or a rider at all, for that matter. :confused3 Why am I bringing him again - oh yeah, he has the wallet!;)

:rotfl: Always handy to bring the man with the wallet! :thumbsup2

Great update!! All I keep reading is how long the wait is for Tinker Bell is soooo long! Sorry you guys had to miss it!

Thank you! Plan on being at the Toon Town rope drop before ten and you should be okay -- especially if you are going in a quieter season.

Also, where is that store, County Bounty? I would LOVE to get the CD you spoke of:thumbsup2

It's the gift shop in that big tent where the princesses and the fairies do their meet and greets. I saw the CDs everywhere in the parks though -- including several stores in World Showcase. You shouldn't have a problem tracking it down.

Love the face paint....so sad that you missed out on Tinkerbell though!!!! Better luck next time!

Thank you! Next time we won't spend an hour riding rides in Fantasyland, that's for sure.

Too bad you missed out on Tinkerbell but there is always the next trip! :goodvibes

I love the teacup picture too, very very cute. It really conveys the Disney Magic. :cloud9:

We were a little disappointed, but hopefully the next time we are there we can meet the fairies.

Thank you! I smile every time I look at that picture of my two darlings in a teacup!

What a great update! :goodvibes

You know how artsy I am, so of course, I love to see the kids faces painted! They got some beautiful designs this year, and I love the photo that you said you framed. That's a great shot of them.

Sounds like you guys are having fun!

Thank you! You know my two flock to the face painting stations when they see them! Any excuse to transform themselves. ;)

We were having a blast and there was lots more ahead!

Hope you're having a good weekend CP! How's school going?

We did have a good weekend, but it flew by! The same could be said for school -- I was shocked to realize that we are already starting our third full week of school -- it is just flying!

I can't believe how long the waits are for the fairies...I think you made a good choice not waiting all that time for them that long! :thumbsup2

We were a little bummed, but we recovered quickly.

Love the kids face painting! Connor really looks like a dragon, I've never seen one that like...so cool!

Looks like you guys had so much fun on the teacups! We didn't ride those on our last trip because I don't trust Chris to not spin it out of control and make me sick. Even if I said not to, he still would

Thank you! Yeah, I bet Chris would spin as fast as he could -- it's hard not to when you are in those teacups.

IF I haven't said so I love the facepainting.

Sorry you missed the fairies. The same thing happened on my trip too. That lineup was just way too long. Maybe next trip.

Thank you! Yes, we will have to plan our meetings with the fairies better next trip!

Love the kids face-paintings!!:cool1:

Thank you!

Love the new update and I think that's my favorite picture of your kids too!

Thank you! It's just so them, isn't it?

Awww, I love Chelsea and Connor's face painting!!!!! I will have to remember to do that for Hollie when we go.
Oh, I remember what Hollie's first ride was....it was Jungle Cruise. For some reason that is always our first ride. We usually head to the left and circle around. Head to fantasy land then I get in line for rope drop (we did that in November of last year and it was perfect!) then head straight for Neverland! :goodvibes

Thank you! Yes, Hollie would be just too cute with her face painted! Love Jungle Cruise! Another great ride! Hollie is going to have a blast meeting the fairies!

I love the kid's painted faces!

Thank you!

I wonder how many times we walked right past each other in Toon Town that morning!

We had to be right there together for most of the morning!

I'm impressed that you guys aren't bright red and dripping sweat from that oppressive heat! :thumbsup2

Don't worry -- that comes in the next update! :lmao:

75 minutes for the fairies at 10 am!!! What??? :scared1:

They are a hot commodity!

My DD is constantly talking about meeting Tinkerbell, Silvermist, et al - I guess we'll be wasting precious MK am time waiting for ToonTown rope drop! What a great picture of your kids on the teacups!

It will be worth it though to avoid that wait!

I've never noticed the mouse in the tea pot before!
I guess I need to go back just to see it!:thumbsup2

Good plan! Of course, I think there is also a dormouse at Disneyland. ;)

Wow. That was a long wait time for the fairies. Sorry you didn't get to see them. Maybe next time! Always good to have a reason to go back.

I collect reasons to go back, so that went into the go-back jar!

The face painting came out so well! They both look fantastic! And bonus, they do actually look like they like eachother in the picture. ;)

Chelsea and Connor take their acting seriously. :lmao:

I have the 4 Parks CD but haven't listened in a while. That should put me in the Disney mood today! :)

Gasp! I think you should listen to at least one track everyday! It will make you smile no matter what. :goodvibes

Wow, quite a long wait to see those fairies...we might be skipping that in December. Chelsea and Connor's face painting looks like fun! Ha ha, and I can't tell you how many times I've heard "ok, now act like you like each other" while a picture was being taken. So much fun! :)

If you get there early to Toon Town (before the 10:00 rope drop), you will be okay.

I know that as a mom, I have said that a lot! Of course, I think I learned it from my mom!

Thank you! I thought Chelsea and Connor looked awfully cute with their face paint. The CD always gives my mood a little boost when I listen to it.

I love "act like you like each other." :rotfl2: I've heard that one a few times, especially with my brother.

Oh, yes! Me too! :lmao:

I remember you mentioned reading "Mousejunkies" -- my mom told me last night that she ordered it! I'm so excited to read it. I'm hoping that we can take turns and trade it off. :rotfl:

You will have to tell me what you think of it when you are finished! I laughed through the majority of it because it rang so true!

Awww! That stinks about Tink! Crazy lines! I am going to try to get my DD there right at the rope drop when we go in Dec so we don't have to wait! I don't think I can handle the super long wait either!

Yes, be there even before 10:00 because I have heard it is very crowded -- which makes sense if three minutes later there was a 60-minute wait. You want to be at the front of the pack!

Can i just tell you how much I appreciate that you put the page number in your title whan you do an update. It makes reading along SO much easier.

Hi, Lynn! You are very welcome! :goodvibes

Chelsea and Conner on the teacups with their faces painted are totally adorable, I see why you printed that one.

Our house is already overrun with Disney photos, but I had to find a spot for that one (and several others ;)).

Bummer that you didn't get to meet Tinkerbelle but I don't blame you at all.
A girlfriend who i travel to WDW with always in January realized how spoiled we were when 20 minutes was too long to wait for Malestrom once :lmao:

Lynn

:lmao: 20 minutes is too long for Maelstrom -- I thought it was always a walk-on until our last day of this trip when it had about a 20-minute wait!

Great update, the faces look great!

Thank you so much, Mary! :goodvibes

The kids' faces look great! Thanks for writing about Toon Town. I know that Wendy and the kids will want to do Toon Town and the tip about needing to get there at rope drop is very helpful. Thanks.:)

I don't like waiting in lines either....

You are very welcome, Jordan! Definitely pass the info. along to Wendy because I want her to get Erin and Ashlyn in there to meet Tink -- those will be some seriously cute pictures!!!

I hate, hate, hate waiting in lines. :headache: I look forward to the day when I retire and we can travel during the off-season. ;)
