Beth we LOVED Tangled and I have to say besides Princess and the Frog which is another new one that we really loved I think Tangled is one of my new favs. Now I realize everyone is different but I really loved the story and it had great music, it was funny and I LOVED the lantern scene. One of my all time favs in a Disney film. That and the scene with the fireflies in Princess and Frog!!

We collect all the classic Disney films unless we really didn't care for one so we of course had to get that one but I think you are going to really like it!!

As far as the girls baskets I got them each a few books because they have to read a lot for school and actually have goals that they have to meet so I got that and I did get them SOME candy but not tons. I got them more fun stuff then just junk. Like they really like lollipops so I always get them a big theme one like one that looks like a soccer ball or something and then of course a chocolate rabbit and then some small stuff but not a bunch of candy. But then I got them each 2 pairs of fun disney themed socks and shelby wanted a mini pillow pet and I got katy some little lip glosses as she is my diva in training lol. They have some really cute Hop themed stuff at walmart.

I know it is really hard with teens. Perhaps some gift cards, CD's, dvds, books??

Good Morning!
Hi Sarah!

Beth we LOVED Tangled and I have to say besides Princess and the Frog which is another new one that we really loved I think Tangled is one of my new favs. Now I realize everyone is different but I really loved the story and it had great music, it was funny and I LOVED the lantern scene. I'm sure I'll like Tangled. My kids are just reaching the ages where they aren't as into Disney. I still remember when the twins told me they no longer wanted to dress as a princess for Halloween. :sad1: We don't buy many Disney movies anymore because they just don't watch them. :confused3 I watch them more than they do!

The kid's baskets sound fun! The twins will be fairly easy, but the older two will require more thought. Definitely going to pick up some gift cards. ::yes::

Safe travels to the ladies headed to WDW! Please say hi to Figment for me :) I love Figment :)

I haven't been to WDW in years. I think the last time I was there my little sister (who is now 14) was really small. I hope to go back and would love to hit Universal Studios again to visit Harry Potter World!

:teeth: I want to try Butterbeer and visit Hogsmead :) lol

Last night I had dinner with 2 of my friends. We went to Stonefire Grill. They have the best breadsticks and their food is really tasty :) Afterwards I went to Fry's Electronics and I got the blu ray and DVD combo of Tangled. I saw a sign that said that if you guy the blu ray, you get a free poster. I went and asked for it and the lady said they only had one left. While I was walking away, this sales guy was telling her that it was for him and he was trying to save it for himself. :sad2: I just walked even faster to the check out line so he couldn't catch me. :rolleyes1 It's the only free thing I will ever get from Fry's! :sad2: lol

I gave the poster to a friend of mine at work. She was so happy because she liked the movie. :) If you haven't seen it, you should. It is hilarious and I loved the film. I suggest renting it from Redbox since it will only cost you $1. :) You can actually reserve a movie on their website or through their app on the iPhone or Droid. :)

Hope you ladies are all having a good day. I want to try to get this hat:

It's so cute and it actually has a knob you can turn and the gumballs will come out (the ones that come with it are hard plastic and I don't think it is edible). It also comes with a cute vinylmation :)

I blame Jessica and Sarah for my new hobby addiction! :rotfl:  Jk. I keep thinking: Nooo...this hobby is so evil!! I'm a pin trader! I'm not supposed to like vinylmations! :rotfl:

I guess I am lucky there in that my kids, actually my whole family dh included are big time Disney lovers and I don't know if they will ever outgrow the films. I love them to this day and we have whole days where we break out the classics and watch them. Sometimes the kids don't feel like watching them but if I catch them in the right mood we can do a whole day of it. To me a classic Disney cartoon is timeless and can be enjoyed by any age but I totally get how kids as they get older want to be "cool" and such. My girls def like all types of stuff and we are fairly liberal in what we let them watch. They really like horror movies and I don't let them watch stuff with any sex or nudity obviously which unfortunately a lot of the newer ones have that but the ones that are "scary" and have mild violence I will let them watch like paranormal activity and such. Shelby wanted to watch that exorcism movie and even "I" didn't want to watch that. YUCK! I prefer movies that scare me not gore!! But my point is that they like to watch a wide variety of stuff so I am glad that I can still get them to watch the Disney stuff with me! :) In fact Shelby is dying to go see Hop so if Shane keeps working and things start looking up we may go over their break. I haven't been to the regular movies in I don't know HOW long. There are so many good ones that I have wanted to see but I am still trying to catch up with just dvds LOL.

There was a whole new crop of ones that I wanted to see the last time I went to the video store LOL.

Good luck with your older kids baskets. I know when Lynn was still living here all the holidays were tough. It was pretty much clothes or gift cards LOL. At that age what else is there except money and I just hate to hand them a wad of cash LOL.

When my kids got older I made the "basket" their real gift...

Amy always got a new purse with make-up a new wallet pocket size perfume, purse size tissue, tic tacs, loose change in the bottom...stuff you find in a purse..
Nathan got new gym bags or the like and I filled them with related gifts...LIke extra socks and sweats, weights a water bottle, a new CD for his diiscman (today I guess a gift card for downloads would be the equivilant)
Kari was our resident artist and I usually got her a new portfolio every year with brushes, charcoal pencils, sketch pads, paints etc

They really loved them and once the tradition started they would hint at special things...Like Amy would mention a perfume she would like to try, Nathan would see a set of ankle weights that he could really use, Kari would mention the paint colors she was low on...It became a fun tradition once they felt too old for the traditional easter baskets.

How clever! I love that.

It depends on what it is. They aren't into the fairy tale/princess movies as much anymore. And those are my favorite. BUT they love the Toy Story movies. In fact, we all went to see TS3 when it came out in the theater, and loved it. We saw Wall-E as a family. And Adam actually cannot wait for the new Cars movie. So, who knows. Kids. lol

I will say that Noelle and I love a good scary movie. We are both huge "Scream" fans (I have the complete set) and we cannot wait for "Scream 4" to come out next month! popcorn::

Anybody know how close that Disney rental house is to the parks? Or to the bus line?
Cost? All this may have been said but I don't feel like reading back to find it.

Here is just one article I found:

Looks like AT&T DSL and U-Verse customers need to be more wary of their Internet usage when AT&T’s new service terms are implemented.

Beginning May 2nd, AT&T will implement a new 150GB monthly usage cap for their DSL customers and a 250GB monthly usage cap for their U-verse users. Those exceeding the caps consistently will incur overage charges: $10 fee for every additional 50GB consumed beyond the associated cap.

While these new terms are said to only affect 2% of AT&T DSL customers, AT&T will be making the effort to send out notifications regularly when customers start nearing the newly established caps. Customers can also monitor their usage and usage history via various online tools provided by AT&T.

"Using a notification structure similar to our new wireless data plans, we'll proactively notify customers when they exceed 65%, 90% and 100% of the monthly usage allowance," stated AT&T to Broadband Reports.

"We are committed to providing a great experience for all of our Internet customers," AT&T continues. "We will communicate early and often with these customers so they are well aware of their options before they incur any additional usage charges. Importantly, we are not reducing the speeds, terminating service or limiting available data like some others in the industry."

Although AT&T maintains that these new changes are mainly to deter bandwidth-hungry users, it remains to be seen how this will impact the usage of services that normally are bandwidth-intensive, such as music/movie/tv streaming, and whether other ISPs will soon follow suit.

Basically if you try to watch any shows online or have netflix, download webcasts, songs etc, work from home and use the net a lot you are SOL. So it looks like I am going to be internet shopping whether I like it or not. And the crappy part is comcast is doing the SAME thing and they are really the only two that we have here! :(

Nice. I haven't had any kind of notification from ATT about this AT. ALL. I wonder if they are trying to send it to my att.com email address that I don't have access to because they won't reset my password unless I let them have access to my NON ATT modem/router. Buttheads. They manage to email my bill to me monthly at my hotmail address though.

I'm pretty much stuck with them though since I won't go back to Comcast. Ever.

All caught up! Yay!

Rochelle - that hat is too cute!

The sun is out here and the cat is sunning herself in the sliding glass door track. Which means shedding season will start now. LOL

Not much going on here. Probably a good thing.....

Sarah those are so cute!! :cutie: I like the punk rock one :)

Thanks!

Those are way too cute!!! I need to go to Disneyland to get some shopping on looks like :thumbsup2

Except for the Minnie these are all blind box. I bought them on eBay. Even though I paid a few dollars more than I would have getting my AP discount at least I knew which ones I was buying so it was worth it to me.

Anybody know how close that Disney rental house is to the parks? Or to the bus line?

It is $550 a night which means if 8 of us are interested in staying there it would be $68.75 per night for each of us...not bad at all! Plus the owner posted here that since her house is getting pics and talk here if you mention the DIS when you book a stay of 4 nights or more you get a discounted rate.

Walking is reported at 20-30 minutes but I would likely find out where the closest ART stop was and do that or maybe we eill end up with a Diva or 2 that drives in so we can go in groups and split parking.

EDIT..Just read their most recent rental posting and it is now $595 a night but still not bad since it actually says it sleeps 10 but I don't know if that includes the toddler bed & crib or not.

And per a post from the owner
use our our Disney Theme GEM car for free ($500 value). The same fun electrical car used at the Disneyland Resort
.

Lisa I know doesn't this suck!! I know what you mean about Comcast!! I had them since the 80's when I used to pay 20.00 a month for cable and it just kept going up from there. When I got rid of them a few years back I was paying 50 for internet and over a hundred for my cable and I just had basic cable!! No movie channels nothing. It was a TOTAL ripoff and they upped their prices EVERY flippin year.

Then I switched to Directv for tv and THEY lied. Told me I would get my cable for 50 a month which I DID for 1 year and now I am stuck with it for 2 EXCEPT that at the beginning of this year it went up to 90/month. The salesman TOTALLY lied surprise surprise and so we dropped it down to just network tv and it is STILL costing me 60 to have NO channels just basically an antennae!

Then AT&T said I would get internet for 19 and as soon as I bought the stupid 80 buck modem and installed it MYSELF they said oops sorry since you don't have a house line it will be 25 a month. Then it went up to 28 and then 35 and now 38 because I don't have my cell service with them. TOTAL black mail and bs since that was NOT the deal when I signed up. NEVER said you had to have their cell service to get the deal on the net! NOW this!!! I am just so disgusted cuz we got the cheapie 7/month netflix so we would have SOME kind of entertainment since we have NO tv anymore and now we can't even watch THAT cuz of this new crap with the internet. I don't want to go back to comcast and don't know that I trust any of these other fly by night small companies so I am besides myself as to what to do. UGH!!!!!

The good news is I had an e-mail from disney and they have major AP discounts on all the disney hotels and since shane is back working and it looks like we are FINALLY getting some money from our child support judgement we might try to go down for a couple days. It won't be as long or as elaborate as what we had planned but if the price works out we might just take a short run down for a few days before our passes run out. I hope it works out cuz I would LOVE to get down there for a few days. I SO need the pick me up!! We shall see!! :)

Ok, so I am all for staying here....are there 7 other ladies who would be interested? If we can get a group of us it would be better to reserve it asap.

Kelly~ Thanks for the info! I am so glad I am grandfathered in.

So my son went to the doctors today and has a bad sinus infection. We picked up a prescription for him and he can return to school tomorrow. My older son, Tahoe, has some hearing issues (he failed in his right ear yesterday) and is also on medication all week. Next week we have to take him back to the doctors to retest his hearing. Every time he has ever been tested he fails in the same ear. The doctor thinks it is due to fluid buildup, but every year at the same time? :confused3

I need some creative help! I am organizing a giant Easter egg hunt for our high school youth group (Fuel). We are calling it "Fuel and the Quest for New Life." We will be hiding 500-1000 eggs all over our church. To make this more exciting, there will be different elements. Each kid will have their name on an egg - the first kid to find their name and bring it back wins a prize; some will have clues to find other eggs leading to one big prize; one Golden Egg for a BIG prize; a puzzle in several eggs that a group will have to solve to get a prize; the first person to bring back a certain number of different colored eggs gets a prize. The eggs will contain treats or a voucher to reach in our box of randomness (a box for newcomers we have stuffed with random prizes - some good, some weird), or boring/gross items.

Can you ladies think of good, bad, or unusual things we could stick in the eggs?

We have Hughes Net for satellite internet..they work everywhere so it does not matter where you live, and they have limits too but it works like this...once we reach our bandwidth it goes from high speed to dial up speed. but we only pay $36.11 a month. Once we reach our bandwidth we tether my driod to the laptop and use it's unlimited data plan to run the laptop faster. Not the best internet deal I have ever had but it has worked for us thus far and with the tether to my driod we can still use our netfllix.

I picture quite a fun meet & greet pool party there too :) That could cut down some expenses too! Its a super cute house.

I would totally be in on a stay at that house! With a family of 3 it would be way too much for us alone so a Divas trip may be my only chance!

As far as the eggs go, one idea we had for the older kids hunt here last year was we hid Sakajawea (sp?) gold dollars in a few..alot of the kids had never even seen this type of coin before and thought it was pretty cool.
