Ok, I want a sparkly name....how do I do that?
(and I need sparkly for dummies directions ok?) :thumbsup2

If you click on my name in my signature, it will take you to the website to make the sparklee name. Just choose your color and font. Use the Bulletin Board 1 code (just copy it), then click on the "User Control Panel" and "Edit Your Signature" - paste that code in and then save your signature.

Thanks, Callie, for getting the sparklee name first :thumbsup2

Oh, and Hi Shelley!!! It's always nice to see fellow Canadians :upsidedow

Question: How did you all like the new location of the Meet N Greet/hotel?

We (my mom and I) stayed at the Carousel, and both liked it.
The beds were very, very comfy. The room was always clean, and smelled clean too. :)
The free breakfast was very well done; much better than the Desert Inn & Suites where my family stayed in 2008. At the Carousel, there was a good selection of cereal, fruit, bread, bagels, danishes, donuts, hard boiled eggs, and various drinks. The lady who sets out the food was very efficient, and kept everything clean and tidy. The breakfast room was very large, with awesome windows that overlooked the parks. I watched the fireworks from there on Sunday evening.

The one bad thing about the Carousel was that one of the elevators was kinda slow, and was broken for several hours on Friday. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay. The staff was really friendly and professional too.

Yay for a new thread. Too bad I got here and it's already broken in...6 pages!

I'm itching for some Disney trips. I'm subscribed and putting the dates in my phone calendar. If my year goes well, I will get myself on the list of attendees.

Question: How did you all like the new location of the Meet N Greet/hotel? I will check out anyone who writes a trip report for their reviews. I'll go check the online photos later from this year's trip

Hi Shelley!
Make it happen, girl!!
The meet n greet party location was awesome! Great fit with our group and food and all :) I didn't stay there so I have no idea how the girls liked the rooms. Hopefully others will chime in on that.

Ok, I want a sparkly name....how do I do that?
(and I need sparkly for dummies directions ok?) :thumbsup2

Shelley, the meet and greet location was fabulous. There was so much room and the views were great. The food was delicious, and there was lots of opportunity to meet everyone and chat.
I stayed at the Carousel one night and I liked it. Not quite as roomy as the HOJO but still very nice. And SUPER convenient. It was a really quick walk to the front gates.

I'm with Jill, I need a sparkly name for dummies tutorial. I tried to do it on sparklee.com but it wouldn't copy the bulletinboard 1 for me. It also wouldn't let me choose a color, but it would randomly choose one.:confused3 I had my name all done up in a pretty walt Disney script too.

eta: figured out the sparklee thing! LOL!

The Carousel (our room) was OK. We didn't LOVE it, but I would stay there again. We had a broken toilet seat in our room that they didn't fix, even when we told them about it. Plus the whole thing with the elevator not working the whole time. But the rooms were clean and fairly quiet, even with Divas on both sides of us. LOL! The event room was AWESOME!

Beth, once Trish gets a user name here (she says she's going to join DIS! WOO HOO!), I'll get you a photo so you can add her to the front page!

In the "Text" box, type your name
Select your Font
Enter a size (the default is 100 and is HUGE)
Select your color (make sure you click on Pick Color and not Random Color)
Select back color (again, Pick Color and not Random Color)
Angle if you want
Click Create Glitter Text

When that's done, go to Bulletinboard (1) and copy the text in the box, then on the DIS go to Quick Links, Edit Signature, then paste the code and save your signature. That should do it :thumbsup2

I actually understand how to do it, but half the time it won't open a color box for me, and I've never gotten my computer to 'copy' (right click, copy) BulletinBoard1. Not sure what the issue is, sounds like it could be my computer, although my computer seems to be working fine in every other instance.

Oh, I almost forgot...I have a question about the scavenger hunt from our trip.
How can I find out what all the answers were to the questions? We looked high and low for "how many mice were going from Fantasyland to Frontierland" and all we found were some Mickey ice-cream bars!:confused3
Can someone post/e-mail the answers? Pretty please?
Thanks!

I loved the party room at the Carousel much better than the HoJo one, and the view was fantastic! The location was awesome too, although I never once came back to the room during the day. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was loud. I like the HoJo rooms and hotel in general better, but not the longer walk. For next year, either one or something else would be fine. I loved my roommates!

Next year I am hoping to bring my daughter Lisa. She will be 29 and I promise everyone will love her. I wanna be in the mother/daughter pic!

Just to throw this out there, we were talking about birthdays and Cheryl thought it might be fun to have a birthday (or "unbirthday") party theme for the M&G. We could have a giant birthday cake, hats, blowers, pin the tail on the donkey, balloons, stuff like that. Anyway I thought it sounded cute so I thought I would just mention it as a possibility.

Oh, and I would also love to get the SH answers!

Oooooo.... a very merry unbirthday tea party would be FUN! We don't have any Divas who will have a birthday ON Feb 23, do we?????

And I want the scavvy answers too! LOL!

Evening ladies! :wave2:

I'm sparkly too! My name is January for those of you who don't know me.

Carol, I think the birthday idea for the M&G is great! I love me some cake!

Heck, I'd love a copy of the scavenger hunt period. Answers or no, lol. I kind of want to go around with my DSLR and photograph all the answers, lol.

And for anyone who needs help with a little glitter name, I can always make some with PhotoShop so they don't have the site text underneath them. I'm no pro, but I like to play around with them. I can do the bigger glitter that they do and more subtle ones like in this.

Sheesh. I leave for class and already I'm more and more pages behind.

Hey Divas, love ya! I'm in for 2012!

Practice your quiet coyotes - LOL!

The new M & G room was really nice! In fact it seemed much bigger than at the HoJo's. Having Quizno's cater was very tasty! Everyone did a great job!

Dianna~ I am glad to hear your mom is doing good! How scary! I'm glad you made it home safe.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: It shows the true me!
Only if you have a beard, hairy legs and a red dress

There were windows on the Bibbidi shop side on the path from Fantasyland to Frontierland with a Cinderella display that had lots of mice. hopefully they hadnt changed it but if they did at least all of you were in the same boat!

I would love to take credit for the idea but it wasn't mine. I don't remember who came up with the idea--but I love it too. I think I did suggest that the exchange could be a birthday present! And I will be scanning and sending both hunt questions and answers. My home computer (where I have a color scanner) is undergoing surgery currently so as soon as it recovers I will do it. and I loved the meeting room too. wish we could all be there some night for fireworks--

LOL--see above re scavvy--even if it is a Diva's actual bithday she can celebrate the actual birthday while the rest of us have un-birthdays!

Jazz I would love for you to make a glitter name for me in a more subtle mode!! and like I said above the questions and answers will be forthcoming.

I have really enjoyed being on the hunt committee the past couple of years but told the rest of my committee last weekend I would not be doing an encore. Of course--as I told Beth earlier--old habits die hard because Sunday I was finding things in the park and thinking "oh--THAT would make a good question!"

Hello Divas!
I'll definitely be trying to come on the trip next year. I mean, hey, I bought an annual pass. I'd better get LOTS of use from it!
Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts and virtual hugs for my mom. She's feeling a bit better today. :)

By way of introduction...I'm a mom of two girls and we live in Beautiful British Columbia! I work part time at the Vancouver Aquarium on the Interpretive Delivery team. My hubby and I will be celebrating our 14th anniversary this year. We hope to have a family trip to Disneyland in either November 2011 or January 2012. I enjoy sewing, theatre, and my two pugs!

PS - I don't know everyone's 'real' name on the DisBoards. It would be a real help to us newbies if you have your name somewhere in your siggy! Thanks! :flower3:

Dianna
I'm glad your Mom is ok. I really enjoyed meeting both of you ! I'm Trudi and I'm going to try to figure out that sparkly siggie. I still have trouble remember names.
Okay ladies, I have a few pictures up on the front page now.

I tried to find recent pics and went to Facebook for some of them. I also tried to find ones I thought were cute/pretty, but I know I am very critical of my own photos so if you absolutely hate the pic I put up there of you, please just let me know and you can send me another one. I'll be happy to replace it.

Also if you don't see your pic up there yet, don't worry. I am still working on it.

Thanks!!
You can leave my pic for now until I find one I like better.
Hey Ladies!

My name is Laura I am a working mom of 2 boys and live in Las Vegas. I have family that live in the Irvine area of the OC so we travel to Disneyland often and have annual passes. I saw the thread for your trip this past weekend a few days before the trip actually happened and didnt know about it, I wish I had!! We were actually there this past weekend too and I saw a couple of your groups around the parks a few times. This is something that I would be really interested in doing next year, I can't officially commit since it is a whole year away but I should most likely be able to go so i thought I would introduce myself and get to know everyone a little bit first. :cool1:

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and going on the trip next year!! :thumbsup2
Welcome aboard !

I liked the hotel. it was close to the entrance and our room was fine, no problems at all, I only noticed the elevator out of order for part of one day. I guess climbing up 4 flights of stairs was good for me.:)

Ok, just let me know if you fine one you'd like instead.
