Hi ladies! I hope you all are having a great night! I am caught up on the thread. Took forever

Things have been really crazy here. I have been having problems lately with my fiance. Ever since I got full custody of Madelyn he has been extremely controlling and very verbally abusive. I haven't been happy at all. He's angry about everything. He's mad thar my ex and I are finally getting along. He wants to control my life and I am not willing to let that happen. Well, I ended things with him this weekend. I broke off our engagement. It has been something I have struggled with for awhile and have found myself praying over and over about. Thank goodness, this weekend we had an argument that really made me realize what I am getting myself into. He has been there for me as an emotional support for the entire year I spent fighting for custody of my daughter. But he's also very "walk on eggshells" type of person. You have to be careful what you say or it can send him reeling. He's has anger issues. I deserve more than that and so does my daughter. Anyways, I just felt I needed to tell you all since I have mentioned I was moving to California and will be close to a lot of you. I'm not sad or upset. I KNOW I did the right thing.

Hope I didn't dampen the mood. :flower3:

Good for you for being such a strong woman! I'm sure ending the relationship was difficult for you, but you know you did the right thing. :grouphug:

January: You did the right thing by breaking off that abusive relationship. Keep us posted on how things are going.

Morning all!!

January big ((Hugs)) I'm pming ya!!

For my idol gals WOW last night was NUTS eh?? I won't spoil it for any who may not have watched yet but WOW! I am just glad they did what they did is all I can say! ;)

I am off to work today but hopefully not for long. Mom is still gone so I just need to run in and do what I need to do and then I am back home to get Shelby's outfit ready for tonight. She has her spring piano recital although with this weather it sure doesn't seem like spring LOL.

Then tomorrow I am taking the girls shopping because we got 100.00 in gift certificates from Children's place that are good starting tomorrow so that will be fun.

Anyway that is it for me. Have a great day everyone and hope you have some fun plans for the weekend! :)

Good morning, ladies!! TGIF!!
I woke up waaaaaay too early this morning. I hate it when that happens, but hey, at least it's Friday.

Anyone have any fun plans this weekend? We'll be home working on the twin's science fair projects.

Have a good day everyone.

Here's a sample of the DisDivaland on a Hane's teal t-shirt.
DisDivaland_T-Shirt.JPG

It doesn't look all that teal on my monitor, but it is what Hanes called teal. We can at least get an idea of it from this one.
Thanks for posting this, Kathy! :) I agree, that doesn't look teal at all. Hanes doesn't know their colors. lol
I like it, but I'd love to see it on more of a true teal background and see it minus that outer ring of gold. Just the sign and flags. I tried to play with photoshop yesterday to see if I could remove the gold background, but no luck.

I KNOW!! OMG, that was crazy. I won't say too much either, but good grief, what is wrong with the voters out there??? Don't they know real talent when they see it???
I'm so glad it ended the way it did. The other two who were in the bottom three need to go. I don't like either of them. It will be very interesting to see what happens next week when two people are let go.

Yeah Beth I agree on the shirts. I had Teal bridesmaids dresses in my first wedding and to me that shirt is a kind of light blue not teal ??? But I also agree just the sign without the ring would look awesome and I don't know if people want it or not but I have that exact Disneyland sign as a magnet and underneath happiest place on earth it says est 1955. I don't know if people would want to do it or not but it might be fun to put the year we started the divas or maybe not. I know some people don't like dates but we started this whole thing in what 08? Just a thought. I know we did the Dis Divas do it again so I was just thinking about a twist on that. But anyway I def agree that get rid of the ring and find a true teal. But thanks Kathy for trying to make something up!! Better than I could do as I am ANTI crafty!! Heck I am lucky I even got my siggie into my signature LOL.

And uh YEAH on idol!! WHOA!! I was SO shocked when Ryan said what he said. In fact the bottom three shocked me. In a way I was not surprised because I thought pretty much everyone did well but personally my least favs are Naima, Haley and Paul and that is who I personally would have picked but I was really shocked by who the bottom three were this week although I thought 2 of them didn't do that well but the person who got picked NO WAY!!! And like I said I was SO glad they did what they did! Now I just hope it doesn't turn around and bite them in the butt next week and they end up going home anyway. Didn't that happen one year where they saved someone and they ended up going home the very next week anyway?

I guess we will have to see!

Oh and p.s. I thought survivor was pretty good too! I KNEW that gal was going to go! She thought she was so smart! LOL. But I still think Phillip needs to go. I know that they think he might have some sort of potential but now he even has it out for Rob so I think he DEF needs to go. The guys a whack job! Oh and my dh and his buddy from Iraq are going to apply for amazing race!! Don't know if they will make it but wouldn't that be fun!! ;)

Found the best cure of a rainy afternoon- just got a hot stone massage!! :cloud9: Could not have been a more perfect day to have it!

I love, love, love those hot stone massages. Well, really, any massage is just fabulous for the most part. Really could use one right about now.

January, So glad that you figured things out before getting married. It is hard to walk away once you have gotten to that point, but obviously the right decision.

Things have been a lot hectic for me the last 3 weeks. In addition to completing my business plan development course and finalizing my business plan, completing the last sessions of my year long participation with my son in a study at children's hospital, I have also been watching my friend Carrie's 3 children while she does a temporary job that is training her to be able to do a work at home job, and then my dear pup who is only 4 years old has an blown out her ACL, which means she is in pain and needs to have a $2500+ surgery. Baseball is also starting and we are coaching. Can you say "on the brink of a nervous breakdown". There is actually even more but I feel like I am having a big old Whine Fest as it is. The good news is that I am a strong person and have the strength to cope, and this too shall pass.

Luckily life is full of amusing moments too. Like yesterday morning. My 8 year old decided that he could not possible face another day looking like "the bieb", as he put it. Mind you, I have been trying to get his hair cut for months now, but he wanted to grow it out...

So the hour of drama began....refusal to go to school, me attempting to trim it so he will go. Bad effect. Me getting the clippers out to give him a quick buzz. Clippers don't work anymore. Me dragging son and 3 year old into 3 different hair salons trying to get a quick haircut, so son can go to school. No luck. Me, running into Walgreens and buying new clipper set, running home, plugging in, buzzing off hair. Dog loaded, son delivered to school, and off to vets we go...All this is 40 minutes.

PS funny part is that we don't have any girls and have never had any discussion of Justin Bieber. Completly out of left field. I think there must have been some teasing at school or something.

I know I have missed a lot on the thread, but did want to say to Wendy that I saw the post about your cousin, and I am so very sorry for your loss. It is so hard to understand how those things happen can happen.

Wow Tracey - sounds like you do need a massage! Sorry to hear about the pup. I have had several friends whose dog blew their ACL - most of them labs? I know it is too late now, but you might want to consider pet insurance. My then 8 mth old golden had bowel obstruction surgery that was $4500! If I had the insurance, we would have gotten over $3000 back. I have it now - hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Hang in there!

Have a good day everyone.

No special plans this weekend. We are still in for a lot more rain in the Sacramento area.. I had some bookcases delivered last weekend and am still working at putting everything back and seeing what it looks like and then rearranging everything.

Gosh, Tracey, your morning exhausted me just reading about it!
So sorry to hear about your pup. I live in fear of my dog hurting himself. He is so huge and active, clumbsy, etc. I really should look into the pet insurance.
And I'm interested in hearing how the study went with your son. It was a diet/nutrition thing, right?

I'm pretty sure it will never stop raining here.

Oh and my dh and his buddy from Iraq are going to apply for amazing race!! Don't know if they will make it but wouldn't that be fun!! ;)
Really? Wow, that would really be something if they did!!

Um, yes, I'd agree with you! Whew. You've got your hands full right now. I love your positive outlook though. I'm sorry about your pup. Poor dear. :(
And you know you can come and have a Whine Fest here anytime. That's what friends are for! Hang in there.

hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Ain't that the truth!

That sounds like a good, productive, rainy-day activity. :thumbsup2

Hang in there, don't float away!!
Before you know it, you'll be soaking up the warm Florida sun, hanging with good friends, and enjoying any number of yummy drinks in Epcot. :sunny:

I brought the alcohol  Anyone for Rasberry vodka and 7up?

Me Please.

I'm so excited - got my new laptop and had to decorate it up a bit:

That's so cute! I want one for my car.

Theresa, love the sticker on your laptop. My cousin pointed one out to me a while ago that I fell in love with. This isn't a photo of my laptop, but this is what it looks like:

I've seen a smaller version on the back of an iPhone. Very cute!

Running late for work, so decided to quickly hop on the DIS. After all, if you're gonna be late, might as well be really late :rotfl2:

Hugs to January. It's a hard decision, but I'm so glad you figured it out before you put yourself and Maddie into a dangerous living situation.

Love the DisDivaLand shirt!!!

And, Beth, please add me to the Oct. list for the same dates as you, Linda and Cheryl. Don't know my plans yet as to whether it will be just me or whether the boys will go too, but I love me some Mickey's Halloween Party. Can't quite decide whether I want to be a fairy or a fallen angel. It will be one of the two as I already bought my wings (and halo). Fairies are cute, but fallen angels are much more fun, don'tcha think?:thumbsup2

:cool1: I already added you! And Becci, too. :thumbsup2

My vote? Fallen angel. I know. You're shocked. ;)

And if you're really that late for work already, I say, why even go? :rolleyes1

lol j/k Have a good day, Jane!

Morning Ladies!

We're off to Vancouver tonight to see Bon Jovi, it'll be my kids first concert! We're heading in early to go for dinner and probably some shopping as well as a visit to my DH's Grandma.
Have a great weekend!

Oh the big object in the sky is just BOB -- BIG ORANGE OBJECT-- Seems he has not been around in such a long time But I hear he is suppose to be showing up here middle of next week. Gives me a reason to continue breathing :). I am so tired of the cold, damp, and gray weather.

Spring is coming-- now need it to stay a while.

Happy Me

Wendy- I will take a drink!! That's oneof my faves!!
