Another place that has AMAZING breakfast is Carnation Cafe although it IS small so a little tough to get a lot of people into. But it is just a thought cuz they do have GREAT food! I personally like it better than Riverbelle. :)

Love Carnation Cafe for breakfast - eggs benedict - yum!

Maybe Sunday night we could try Trader Sam's.

Would love to try Trader Sam's - maybe dinner at Tangaroa Terrace prior??

I won't be there for it as I'll either be leaving Sat morning, or early Sun morning...

Sat morning - really??? Do you think we will let you leave that early?? Now maybe Sunday morning...

Awesome!! Thanks so much, Bridget! That will make it so much easier. Don't suppose your contact can reserve the entire Carnation Cafe for us?? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

well, she did get us ressies for 20 at Napa Rose that Disney Dining could not do...I can always ask!

I have been to all three as well, but I have enjoyed numerous alcoholic concoctions.

I have only done two so must have an alcoholic concoction at Trader Sam's!

You know a few of us did a group shot on the stairway in the Court of Angels.....it's beautiful back there & I think that
would make a great place for the entire group!!!! Maybe we could arrange for a photopass photographer to come do our picture!

Another thought would be in the WoC standing area, down by the water with Paradise Pier in the background.

I think both are great ideas!

HAPPY CANADA DAY DIVAS!!!!

Steph - Happy Anniversary for Monday. Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Other big news is that Hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Vegas! We will be there for 5 nights and so I should hopefully have time to meet up with some of the Vegas Divas this time again! That is Aug 29th to Sep 3rd. I would like to go to Dicks this trip, since I have never been.

Tracey - have a great time in Vegas :thumbsup2

Happy Friday, all! Even if its my Tuesday, lol. I'm off to work so catch ya'll later :wave2:

Happy Friday, Jess (I thought that said "so scratch ya'll later - I think I need my eyes checked :rolleyes1)

Yay for new meals :cheer2: I think it would be great to do a group pic somewhere in DCA too. Bridget, Beth will stay until Sunday a.m., no worries :rolleyes1

Were you aware that they are expanding the Carnation Cafe??? They are closing down the Main Street Bakery to eventually re-open it where the AP Processing Center is & expanding Carnation Cafe to offer inside seating as well as the outdoor. That's happening sometime this summer & the bakery will reopen at the end of this year or January (can't remember now what I read).

So it sounds like Carnation Cafe would be able to handle a larger group if we decided we wanted to do a meal there!!!

The Court of Angels staircase could handle our group......it's a pretty long staircase & wide enough to go at least 3 across (maybe more).

Al Lutz Article: Also in early August, the busy Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street USA will close for good at that location so that the adjoining Carnation Café can expand and offer indoor seating. The bakery concept will reappear at the far end of Main Street USA in December, when the Mary Poppins themed version of the charming old Plaza Pavilion opens in the space currently occupied by the Annual Passholder processing center.

Awesome! Fingers crossed for some Disney magic then. :wizard:

Yep, I read that. It's about time. Carnation Cafe is so popular, it really should be expanded.

I just love the Court of Angels. So pretty.....

Wonder if we should replace our usual castle pic on Saturday morning, with that location, and then still do one in DCA on Sunday??

Oy, decisions, decisions. Well, hopefully more of the ladies will show up here and offer some opinions. :) I guess it's better to have more great options than be limited to 1 or 2 crappy ones. lol

ETA: After looking at the staircase more closely, I think our only issue would be height. It could be a real challenge to get each person to where they can be seen and not blocked by the person in front of them. Not saying it's impossible, just ...... a challenge.

Here's a pic we took one year during a mini meet on those stairs. There were only 9 of us and it still took a bit of arranging to make sure everyone was seen in the photo. I'm not sure we could get over 40 ladies on those stairs without someone, especially those more petite in height, being blocked out. :confused3

BUT I'm open to anything, so please don't think I'm knocking it completely, merely pointing out the pros and cons. Beautiful area without a doubt, just a "teeny tiny living space" to quote the genie. (or in this case, posing space, lol)

Hi Sarah!
Congratulations on your 10 years! I would settle for WDW:) My oldest is going to Paris this Spring with Band. I thought I might go along, but really, the trip they are taking is not the trip I would take anyhow. But I am officially going to start planning our family trip to DW again. Everyone has committed that that will be our next destination. So I am not booking any worldmark reservations for next summer. If we don't go to DW in June then we will go camping and whatnot locally, while we save our points and our money.

PS I like the idea of a Rivers of America picture, or court of angels. Also I love how the pics turn out in front of Mickey Wheel.

New hotel dilemna: I can get Radisson in buena park for $80 a night instead of $120 for HOJO. It is two nights so would be an $80 savings. They have a dedicated shuttle, free breakfast and manager reception in evening (which I would likely miss), also a suite with two TV's. What would you do??
Tracey

Have you ever done Priceline or Hotwire? I used them all the time. If you go to Betterbidding.com, it helps give ideas on what hotels you might be getting. So far, I have been able to get the hotels I wanted from their informational clues and posts. My favorite so far is the Holiday Inn on Walnut. I've been able to snag that hotel for around $45-55 a night. And it is walkable if you want. PM me if you want and I will tell you some more stuff to look for.

Happy Anniversary to you and Sarah! :flower3:

Hi Everyone!
I have been skimming along as I can, and I am a go with the flow person. It all sounds wonderful. I won't be bringing a friend this year, because it really cramped my style of hanging out with all of you! Love her and everything, but just sayin...it does effect the spirit of the trip a bit for me.

It is supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow and I am glad as I have promised the boys a trip to Wild Waves. I am not that excited as my old aunt flo has been visiting for about 30 days now. Yes, the old bat even went to Yellowstone with me! Not sure what that is all about but it is a dang drag!

Just found out that I get to go back to DL this year. I am so excited, as I thought it would be a long time before I was there again. My cousin and her family are doing a road trip and ending at DL. When I said I should fly down and ride home with them, they totally took me up on it! Anyhow, Nathan and I are flying down on miles. I have an annual pass, and will just have to buy a ticket for Nate. I do have to get a hotel room, but I have one free night and then have booked two free nights at HOJO. The rooms are expensive right now! Since it is just Nate and I, I would love to get the costs down if any of you Moms are thinking of getting a short 3 night trip in, I would be willing to share! Well, heck I guess it doesn't have to be a Mom, just someone that can tolerate a kid who wakes up bright eyed and bushy tailed at about 6 AM. Just PM me if you are interested! July 23rd to July 26th.

Other big news is that Hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Vegas! We will be there for 5 nights and so I should hopefully have time to meet up with some of the Vegas Divas this time again! That is Aug 29th to Sep 3rd. All right ladies, I am falling asleep as I type so good night!
Tracey

Ugh..30 days of Aunt Flo, is not fun! Since having Brooke, Aunt Flo is well my new BFF!

Sounds like some fun trips Tracey!

I will be there Thursday-Monday. Everything looks ok to me. I am wanting to do F! dessert, the BBQ (it was SOOO GOOD!), Trader Sams, I'll skip Napa, it was just Ok, for me, CO for the good stuff!, CC for soup, but who knows by the time the trip comes I might just end up at the BBQ & F! :rotfl:
I still want to try the Troubador for a potato. Maybe I will try it in October?

Today I am just getting ready for the wknd at the lake! Making burger patties, potato salad, pasta salad, taco dip, cutting fruit, Jell-O salad, and baked beans. Busy, busy! It will be fun! Jordan turns 15 on Monday!

So, I am curious....what and where do you find a Troubador potato? :confused3

You could actually fit a pretty large group on the staircase if you get everyone lined up on the stairs by height. It helps that the staricase is curved. The thing with this photo is that it's a pretty tightly cropped shot. If you got for a portrait layout (tall ways) and don't get so close up you can fit a lot of that staircase in a single photo. Will it take time to arrange everyone by height? Yes. Is it doable? I still don't think we could get the entire group into one shot, but you can definitely feet quite a group. Maybe split the group in half and just do 2 photos? :confused3 Just an idea. It's a wonderfully gorgeous area so it would be perfect for some kind of group shot, even if it's just a smaller group like some of us did on Saturday morning before the Scavvy Hunt last year.

I think the pic in front of the castle is too much of a tradition to not do it. Adding in another pic would be awesome though, but don't get rid of the castle pic (maybe I'll ask Jess to make a button for that!!!)

Huzzah! Another campaign!

We just got our free 5 X 7 with the Disney Visa two weeks ago at DCA. It is a pretty closed in tight area. I would say no more than 10 people would fit. But you never know - we could ask about it ahead of time. We had Chip & Dale in the cutest striped ties and fidora type hats. It's a cute pic of Bree & I!:)
:
Post it please :)
Huzzah! Another campaign!

Do you watch How I met your mother? We always say "Huzzah, a gentlemen's agreement, " around here :rotfl:

I took the kiddos bowling this morning - I won the first round and Tahoe the second. He was bowling spare after spare! I may just have a pro bowler on my hands in the future.

Ok, count me in for Paradise, Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, Hungry Bear, and Jazz Kitchen. Since I am in a villa this year  I am going to plan to make salads and sandwiches for myself in the room for the other meals. At least, that's the plan....
Character meal - I would love to do this. I have only been to Minnie's so it would be fun to try another one.
I do want to go to see Billy Hill again!
I would also like to try Ariel's Grotto. With my boys this may never happen on my own!

In fact here is my list of never done things to do for this trip:
Ride the canoe's!
Eat at Hungry Bear
ElecTRONica

When we go in a few weeks with the kids this is my list:
Bengal BBQ
The Little Mermaid
Star Tours
Muppet Theatre
Rapunzel
Captain EO (kids have never seen)
Billy Hill (DH and kids have never seen)
Ride the Main Street vehicles
Mark Twain
Tom Sawyer Island

Afternoon all and first off Tracey have a blast on your trip to DL and Happy Anniversary!!

Same to you Sarah and I know you will have a blast on your DW trip!!

I think all of the group photo ideas are great and so far I like all of the ideas for meals as well. Once we get the final ideas and days set up then I will talk to mom and we will decide which ones we want to do. The only thing I ask is that we try to make sure if we do a big group photo on one day that we don't set up a meal at the same time. I realize that it was a special deal 2 years ago but a few of us went to house of blues 2 years ago and missed out on the Tinkerbell pic and it was so cute. I was sorry to miss out on that one :( So hopefully if some alternate meals or such get scheduled maybe we can make all the group pics at a time when people are available unless it gets too crazy and it is impossible. I know this time I pretty much plan to go to all the group ones but just saying ;)

And we did the visa pic with a few people 2 years ago and that was really fun so I am up for that again or any other photo ops. Those are always lots of fun! I also like the idea of a night to go to one of the "bars" be it trader sams or napa lounge or whatever. That is a great to just sit back relax and visit. Like the time we did desert at Napa Rose or going to cove bar. It is a nice fun time after a long day to visit with friends. Hopefully that can be worked into the schedule on one of the days.

Happy Canada day Theresa and Happy Anniversary Steph and again I hope everyone has a fun 4th!!

We are prob just going to be hanging out round home most of the weekend and then at mom's on Monday.

Take care all and talk soon.

That sounds delicious!! And fun. Happy early birthday to Jordan. Why are all our kids getting so old?? lol

So, I am curious....what and where do you find a Troubador potato? :confused3
I was wondering the same thing. So I Googled it and Troubadour Tavern is the little snack place near the PFF on the side there.
Last time I ate there it was still called Enchanted Cottage.

Anyway, they sell different types of baked potatoes:
Baked Potato: Bacon and Sour Cream - potato topped with Butter, Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, Bacon Bits, and Chives - $6.29
Baked Potato: Barbecue Chicken - potato topped with Tender Chicken with a Sweet and Tangy Barbecue Sauce - $6.29
Baked Potato: Broccoli and Cheese - potato topped with Tender Florets and Creamy Cheese Sauce - $6.29

This link has some more info as well as pics of the location and food:

It looks good! I might try that in October with you, Deb! lol

I would also like to try Ariel's Grotto. With my boys this may never happen on my own!
I love Ariel's Grotto! A few years ago, on a family vacation there, I had Ruben take the older kids on some rides, while I took Lindsey and Hannah to Ariel's. I loved it and so did they.
Then we did it on the ladies trip in 2010, and it was really nice.

Here is a pic from that trip:
untitled.jpg

I'd love to do it again, but I'm going to be on a tight budget for this trip, so, sadly, I'll have to skip it. I'm sure you'll find someone who wants to go with you!! :thumbsup2

Will it take time to arrange everyone by height? Yes. Is it doable? I still don't think we could get the entire group into one shot, but you can definitely feet quite a group.
Darn Disney for making things too small. Carnation Cafe, Trader Sam's and the staircase. :rotfl2: Don't they know they're cramping our Diva style!! lol

I would also like to try Ariel's Grotto. With my boys this may never happen on my own!

I love Ariel's - it's a good opportunity to get to do the girlie things without the boys :thumbsup2
