District 9 Movie?

Have you seen this movie this weekend and if so what did you think of it? Was it scary or gross, do you think it had a lame script? I am comtemplating seeing it but am sort of on the line (I am not into movies that generally leave me having a nightmare). Thanks for your help.

One of the worst movies Ive ever seen.(IMHO)
It really could have been a good one, it lacked a real script. Didnt like the format of the cameras. It did have alot of blowing up "prawns" with alot of goo.
One good thing was the animation of the "prawns" but thay all look like cockroaches!
Perhaps if I were much younger, i might have liked it

I liked it but my husband didn't. It is shot in a documentary, real life style, so that is different then say a big blockbuster. Lots of social issues to think about, very gritty and not a happy story. I got a little of the "Enemy Mine" vibe as the main human character comes to see the main Prawn character as more then a "thing".

It was a different sort of movie though.

I had about 10 facebook friends see it. Mixed reviews, and they either LOVED it, or HATED it.

Like others have said it iis shot with that shaky camera thing, to make it more real. I can't watch movies like that, esp on a big screen. Gives me a terrible headache.

My best friend saw it and told me that it wasn't worth the money to see it. I too saw the previews and it did not look interesting to me, so I had already decided not to see it.

Same. I won't be seeing that movie.
