How far is Disneyland from LAX - timewise? The only other time we have been, we drove from Palm Springs so I have no idea. I was booking transportation to and from and they say p/u at 5:30 a.m. to arrive at the airport at 7:30 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. flight?? Yikes - gonna be a long day if that's the case!

Well lets say a day with out that much traffic. Maybe 1 hour and 10 minutes. However in LA you can never count on a traffic free day. With traffic it can be 2 hours. However my estimate is thats it gonna be a little bit more then a hour :).
No worries though LAX has many stores :)

part of our party flew into LAX (we got a rental car for $99 a week!!) and we drove to Candy Cane Inn, which is a block away from DL. I think we were driving for about 1.5hrs. Of course, we had to stop on the side of the interstate because my DD puked!

There was traffic, but it was MUCH less than what I thought there was going to be. It seems like we were there somewhere around 5pm of so.

We really enjoyed DL- hope you have a great time!

We went in Oct, picked up at LAX at 9:20 am... were in DLH checking in at 9:55 am... 35 minutes, including taking our stuff out of the car...now this was a Wed morning, I assume 9:20 is a little after the big rush hour... and we were in the carpool lane the entire time... I think we got lucky... but you may too!

Oh, and going back on a Sat night... we were picked up at 5 pm, and at LAX at 5:45...

is there such a thing as "friday light" traffic in LA? I am guessing we are walking out of the airport at 7:15 pm... how bad is it going to be?

That time looks right to me - especially if your transportation is stopping anywhere else for pick ups. The thing is, if you leave any later, you'll really hit rush hour.

also - you didn't mention if you are flying internationally - in which case to hours is the absolute minimum for clearing security etc at LAX, and it's pretty much the safe minimum for domestic. All you need is for a couple of x ray macxhines to be down, or another flight to be boarding and ...there goes your hour!

Yep, we're flying in from Vancouver, CA. I just thought that at 5:30 there would not be that much traffic (that's quite a bit before rush hour here, but LA is MUCH bigger!). Well, here's to hoping that we hit it lucky and it does not take that long for the drive! At least the flight is nice and short :thumbsup2

I'm flying into LAX from NY in May on a Friday night. Flight gets in at 8, taking Disneyland Express to Paradise Pier. Hoping the worst of the traffic is out of the way by then.
