Distance from Dolphin Convention Center - Swan, BC?

We're going to a convention at the Dolphin -- we currently have rooms at the Swan but now they're offering overflow at the BC. How much further walking distance is the BC to the Convention Center? Do you have to go through the Dolphin to get the Center?

I assume the Swan distance is not far at all. If it overflows again, they will book into the Yacht Club or Boardwalk -- I assume the Boardwalk Inn would be even further than the BC -- but the YC would be pretty close if there's an easy exit near the convention center right???

(they're offering comparable rates which makes me want to go with BC since I've always wanted to stay there!!!)

thanks so much for any assistance!!

You're in luck -- the Epcot Resort hotels are SUPER close together, so I would choose the hotel that seems most appealing to you. You'll be able to get to the convention center easily no matter where you stay.

Here is a map of the Swan/Dophin area -- the two are connected by a short path (1 minute walk), so it is easy to utilize the facilities of both properties.

From the Swan/Dolphin, it takes 5-10 minutes to walk to either the Boardwalk or YC/BC. Technically the YC is closer than the BC, but again since everything is so close, you're talking an extra few minutes.

I REALLY love the Epcot Resort area...in fact, I stayed at the Dolphin last September, the BC in December, and the Swan in January (it has been a good year for Disney trips!), and I would recommend all 3. They're all great properites, though I think the BC at a Swan/Dolphin rate sounds amazing to me. Whatever you decide, have a great trip!

I agree with these comments. I went to a convention at the Dolphin in July 2009. To answer your other question, if you are walking, you do have to go through the Dolphin to get to the convention meeting rooms. Go in the Dolphin's main doors at the giant seashells fountain, up the escalator/stairs (right there at the doors, or elevators down the hall to the left) and you will enter the main lobby. At the opposite end of the main lobby is the entry to the convention rooms. Real easy, and it is a pleasure to walk through such a grand lobby! If you stay at the Swan, there is a covered outdoor walkway to the Dolphin's main doors.

There is an alternate entry if you have a car. All of these resorts (Dolphin/Swan/BW/BC/YC) are on the same road, in a circle. You can drive to the parking entry of the Dolphin and enter the convention area from outside without going through the lobby. You would pay to park (through valet at the porte cochere), or someone could drop you off there. You might do this if it was raining, or if you were bringing a ton of materials to your meeting. The bellmen have carts and could help you with your stuff for a small tip. :)

Interesting factoid that shows the Disney extra touch: the circular road I mentioned, EPCOT Resorts Blvd., goes through a tunnel UNDER the canal that connects the resorts' lake to the EPCOT lake. Disney guests on the pedestrian bridge and walkways in that area cannot see or hear the road traffic there! :cool2:
