How far apart are Epcot and HS? I always read that you can get to both by foot from BWV and BCV. How about from BLT? Can we take the monorail to Epcot and then walk?

This all depends on how much walking you are able to handle. I would say that the distance between the two parks has to be 20-25 minutes walking, as I think it takes us about 15 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios from the Boardwalk, and it takes a bit more than 5 minutes to get to Epcot from Hollywood Studios. We are pretty fast walkers, though.

If you took the monorail to Epcot, you would have to walk all the way through the front of the park and into World Showcase to get to the back exit/entrance. That is where the path to the hotels and Hollywood Studios are. That would be a hike. However, if you are enjoying the park along the way, I personally don't feel it is too bad.

Thanks for the reply. The wait for the bus does not seem so bad afterall.

I guess if we decide to park hop it would be good. Actually this past year we went to Epcot, walked back to the front to get on a bus for HS. Had I known then what I know now!!!:rotfl:

You learn lots of tidbits on these boards!:thumbsup2

Do you have small children? Then it's a hike.If not it's generally enjoyable because most of it is in the shade.Like the other person said it's about a 20-30 minute walk depending on your pace.

I mapped out the path using Google Maps here. If it works the way it is supposed to work, clicking on the link will take you to a Google Map of the area, with a blue line highlighting the path. It is 1.43 miles.

If you are a walker, that isn't bad at all considering all the walking you do while on a Disney vacation. I would often rather walk it than wait around for transportation.

You can take the monorail and then go to International Gateway and catch a Friendship boat to the studios. It will take about the same time as walking, maybe a little longer but is very relaxing and scenic, not quite a thrill ride like the buses.

You can walk it, but it will take a while. Taking the monorail to Epcot then walking to HS will be a very loooong walk. Waisting alot of precious Disney time! :thumbsup2 The monorail is at the front of the park. The exit to BWV is at the very back of the park by France. Best bet- take the bus from BLT (if that's where you're staying) directly to HS. Or plan part of your day in Epcot, then head on over to HS after you've worked your way to the back. But it is still a walk. You can grab the boat out front of BWV and go to HS, but that still takes time. It took us a little bit to get to HS while we were staying at BWV. There aren't boats constantly coming in.
I'm guessing if you were to take the monorail from BLT to Epcot, go thru security bag check, walk all the way thru Epcot, wait for a boat to take you to BWV, then take another boat to HS (I don't remember a boat that went from Epcot directly to HS) go thru ANOTHER bag check after you just did........you'll be traveling for about an hour or more before you actually get into HS. Walk it- even longer.
But if you are feeling spunky and want to try it- more power to ya! ;) I say take the bus all the way to HS. BLT should have ample bus pick ups.

I do rememer the friendship boats now! ::yes:: But coming from BLT via monorail, then go thru all the other I mentioned to get to HS is not worth it!!

You could take the monorail to EPCOT, walk to BCV's and enjoy an Ice Cream treat at Beaches and Cream. Then take the boat from BWV's to DHS. We usually always try to make it to Beaches from Ice Cream at least once a trip.

Great idea for the ice cream! But you would not want to walk back to BWV for the boat. It would just bring you back to Beach Club! Its the same boat that leaves epcot, that stops at BWV, then, Yacht and Beach, then, Swan and Dolphin and finally on to DHS. Follows the same route in reverse on the way back from DHS.

Beaches and Cream is fun after a long day in the parks, that's why i'm looking forward to BWV

You'd be even closer to Beaches and Cream if you actually stayed at BCV. Love that place! (Both of them.)

Thank you all for the information (especially the blue line on google maps :thumbsup2).

We usually take the buses from BLT and really do not mind them. We do enough walking at Disney already. However, now I know what to do when we decide to park hop between Epcot and HS.

It would be nice if Disney could expand their monorail system and have one connecting from Epcot to HS. I think all the Disney parks should be accessible via monorail! :moped:

That would be an awful lot of rail in the air, and not very feasible ,but a nice thought :cool1:

Following OP's original question, here's another one: If you were to have a room at BWV that was furthest away from the boardwalk (closest to DHS), is there a way to exit BWV and access the walkway to DHS there? Or do you have to exit BWV at the "front" (on the boardwalk) and walk all the way around? I know I'm not describing this very well...sorry! Thanks in advance to anyone who can follow what I'm trying to ask and knows the answers...! :lovestruc

There are stairs and a door down by the Tennis Courts so you don't have to trek back down to the lobby.

Remember that cutting through Epcot involves having a park hopper. DISers have ended up standing at the front of Epcot wanting to get through to the Boardwalk with non-hopping passes before.

Yes. I had this room in January. It is in the standard view section, all the way down and you can see the walkway from the room. If you were staying at BWV and entering the hotel from the walkway closest to the parking by the bridge that crosses the water, you would turn left and walk by a few rooms and out the door to the DHS walkway. We were able to sit on our very shady balcony and watch the Disney Marathon come by.
