dissapointed with LLoyds platinum insurance

Well after reading the small print for lloyds platinum account which I was told would cover me DB and DD as its worldwide family cover,for a single account it will cover me and DB but only a child under 12 months? This is not to me family cover.
Can anyone recommend a travel insurance policy as I need to book asap as leave in 2 weeks.Havent bothered to look as was guarenteeing on this.
Would prefer an annual as going again in august next year.

Just to check is the account just in your name? If your account is sole the it covers, as you say, you DH and children up to 12 months old, however only if your account is joint do you get the free family cover, which seems very unfair when the fee is per account not per person.
 
Have you spoke to them as it may be possible to pay a small premium just to upgrade the policy? It might be worth trying before you pay out on another policy.

Having worked for LLoyds i would ring the AVA department as i dont think this is correct, think it may be an error. I have the premier account and have used it for years. Let us know how you get on :)

I phoned them yesterday and it is right. i spoke to a supervisor as well.I expressed my annoyance of being misold the upgrade and asked them to knock it back down to the silver as was so annoyed. This is a real con. I have got some quotes now so not bothering with them.
 
I don't have a family just me and DW but the premier account is sold as family travel insurance so if this is the case that it only covers children up to 12 months then it's a disgrace that they making this such a big selling point

That is disgusting! I wonder when this changed!? I too will be having words tomorrow and downgrading my account. :sad2:

Well DB phoned them back today and spoke to someone in the "senior" team. Apparently as it is a single account the cover includes me but wnt cover DD as she is not DB child so He has to pay an extra £25 . He told them to leave it as it was at the basic account. Paid £45 for a years insurance with sainsburys instead. Their loss
