dissapointed in timeshare store

Ok, I am confussed. Is the Timeshare store, the same as the dvc store?
We have 4 separate contracts, and sadly I think we will need to sell one of them in this economy. So confused, and a bit scared of who to go thru.
If what you are asking is if the posters on this thread from the dvcstore (Jerry and Scot, for example) work for TSS, then the answer is "yes." Their email addresses are essentially the same as what is listed. I recommend them based entirely on my recent experience; however, as one poster noted, there are other resale agencies out there and looking into each one of them before making a decision is a good idea.

I just wanted to add that I have recently had a very positive experience with the TSS. I couldn't have been a more difficult customer if I had set my mind to it, and they were patient, cooperative and communicative through the entire process.

I'll likely buy more points in the future, and will definitely use the TSS.

I bought my first contract from TSS and my problem started when the closing agent took control. The seller sat on their contract/deed without signing it for 3-4 weeks. The closing agent wouldn't even call to see what the hold up was and that started to get under my skin. When I called my agent at TSS I got a call within hours from the closing agent explaining what was going on and low and behold the sell sign the next day and we closed the following week.

Stay on top of the closing agent and if you need to call TSS and they can lean on them for your.

Good luck with your contarct.

I agree with Jerry's earlier post, If you ever email anybody at The Timeshare Store, Inc. or Magic Vacation Title and do not get a timely response, please call the office ASAP. I am extremely confident there is not an associate in the office who does not respond to emails. If an associate is out of the office, the response may be delayed but never ignored. Generally you will receive an email response from an associate that is working while your associate is away from their email.

There have been a few times when an email was never received or ended up in a SPAM folder for an unknown reason. Never hesitate to call if your email is not answered in a timely fashion.:cool1::banana:

Scot and his team (including Magic Title?) were very responsive to emails, even during a vacation. And I wasn't the easiest customer as my seller dragged their feet. More than 30 emails back and forth, always timely responses.

Oh good luck with the ROFR I know that feeling! They have been deciding it seems in a 3 week period give or take a day or two. How long has it been? Sending pixie dust your way!:wizard:

Thanks.....I'll gratefully accept that pixie dust! It was originally submitted on 4/12, then I had to re-sign the contract due to a clerical error, so it didn't go back in until 4/20. If it had gone in on 4/12, I would have heard by now. I'm hoping that I get some good news next week. :)

Just got notice of closing but nothing from the actual time share store reguarding it just an email from the closing agent telling me to contact Disney in 7 days as that is about when I should be In the system. I'm glad it's almost over! Brenda was the only one at TSS who answered emails promptly if at all so tnks to Brenda!

Great news! :dance3::woohoo::cheer2::dance3::woohoo:
I'm sending some pixie dust your way in hopes you get a ressie. *~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+*~+

Don't give up--once you get into the system keep calling member services. There could be cancelations and all the W-L's drop off at T-7days so you are on equal footing at the point.

Let us know how it works out.

Something I recently noticed at the Timeshare Store impressed me. We purchased a BWV resale from another resale company about a month ago, but I have been checking small point contracts at the three frequently-recommended companies ever since in hopes of finding another attractive add-on. At **********.com, there was a 35-point contract that had been stripped of points (17 points for 2010, 0 for 2011, 35 for 2012) available for $73/point when we purchased a month ago. I've watched that contract ever since, waiting to see how long it took to sell in that stripped status. Well, low and behold, over this past weekend, I saw that same contract (17 points for 2010, 0 for 2011, 35 for 2012) show up for $80/point over at TSS. It was also removed from the **********.com site. TSS has already sold it, for $7/point more than it had been listed for over a month on the other site. That speaks volumes about the number of people who check the TSS site... if you are in the market to sell off some points.

I agree. We spoke to agents at TSS and Jaki and decided to go w/Jaki. The listings at TSS were more expensive, and more of their contracts (at the time that I was looking) were stripped. I asked the agent at the TSS what he thought of the listing price for a particular contract (stripped of '10 pts, $66/pt SSR), and he said well I sold one today for higher. To me, it was not a real answer. When I called Jaki about a particular contract and bid only one dollar lower, she mentioned that it was a fair price and said while it was lower, it was good enough to pass ROFR.

I understand that TSS and Jaki are both acting as both the buyer and seller agents, so they can't necessary "slam" one contract over another. However, if asked directly, I would have liked an actual opinion. That being said, TSS answered my calls, returned calls promptly, and made sure that when one agent was out another agent answered my emails. I think it's just more "corporate" than Jaki's operation.

I got my reservation it is split up but i got it the 26-30 at SSR and 31 to the 2nd at AKL kadani! i am glad it all worked out i had to waitlist for th 30th but it came through, every resort was booked on the 30 for studios!

Happy ending! Welcome home.....:wizard:

I e-mailed Nancy at *** Yesterday and never heard back from her... It's a good thing I copied jason in... he responded to me today. I sent my closing docs and payment in two weeks ago! Apparantly the seller did something wrong on the paperwork & they are waiting for it. It would be nice to be kept in the loop! Brenda seems to be more on the ball.

Thanks for this heads-up regarding Nancy. She is our closing agent as well... so I will know to keep on top of things myself once we pass ROFR.

So if you are thinking of selling... TSS is the way to go????
Yes, that's what I have been observing. Their inventory moves much faster, and I've seen listings that were languishing on the other sites move over to TSS and then sell quickly for a HIGHER amount. That's good for the seller... but not so good for the buyer. It seems that they must have a much larger customer base than the other sites for identical listings to move so fast.

I don't think your problem is with the Timeshare Store, it's with the closing company they use. I had some problems in the past with communication and lost paperwork.

I am currently going through a major back and forth with the closing company because I never received my deed after paying up front at closing. They swear they sent it to me though. You know when a deed comes in the mail, you don't miss those things. They never sent it, probably lost it.

Who was your closing company? Thanks for the heads-up on this... I will ask for the deed to be sent via certified mail.

gianjoe,
If you have not received your deed and you purchased through TTS, please call the office when you have a moment and we will be glad to assist. Receiving the deed after closing generally takes anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. Let us know if we can help in anyway.:cool1::banana:

My experience was not the best - offer made and accepted on contract, then after TSS had my deposit was called and said offer was declined. Another contract offered but somewhat less desirable - almost felt like it was a bit of a switch on purpose. Saw original contract for sale on another site still for long time after ??
Seller took so long to send in paperwork that we missed the cutoff for Disney to accept monthly payments of maintenance fees (paperwork suddenly came through the day after I called to see what was going on) and then contract had to wait for me to fed ex another check in the whole year's maintenance fees.
My advice - don't bother to pay to overnite anything because it will not speed the process and you'll just waste your money.
My deed came 5 months after closing paid with cash....I had already gotten my deeds from my first add-on that I had purchased from disney just 4 weeks earlier!! I think the closing company had some major issues (it was Timeshare Closing I believe, but I think they have since changed their name) but I feel like TSS should have stayed on top of their performance.
