Wondering if anybody has used the camera's that you can get wet? I'd like to use one on the water rides or at the Water parks and was wondering how your pic's turned out? Not wanting to risk my Digital Camera. Thanks!

I was wondering that too, as we are going to get some to take too for that reason. lol

They take an ok picture. I prefer what I get from my digital but I won't take it near water. The camera was better than nothing.

Hi there, we had a water camera on honeymoon (for snorkling). The photo's aren't quite as clear as they would be with a normal camera (rather as if you had taken it through a window) as they go through an extra layer of plastic (the protection) but they are great fun. We used them for taking photo's of us messing in the sea - eg playing frisbee... and it made for some really different shots. I'd say go for it... they aren't too expensive and really are a lot of fun!

Some disposable water cameras also have a color adjustment for underwater photos (don't know if it's the film type or part of the lens), so they can give an odd color-cast for photos taken out of the water. I don't know if this is true of all models or of some.

However, I agree - protect your digital at all costs!! I want to take some photos on Grizlly River Rapids in California Adventure and I'm considering buying a disposable for that (but not the waterproof beause of the color issues). If water gets in and ruins it, at least I'm only out a few bucks.

If you go to your digital camera'a manufacturer's website, you might find they have an underwtaer case as an accessory. I know this is true for the Canon Powershot series. I've thought about that as well - a little more epxensive (but not much more if you use 5-7 disposable underwater cameras during the life of your digital).
