Disposable Razor - Potential Money-maker!!

Just wanted to pass this along to my fellow DIS-ers!! Found a $5 off coupon for a Schick Hydro in the Sunday coupon section a couple of weeks ago (there may be some available online) ... PLUS, Schick had a "Try Me Free" mail in rebate offer for up to $10.99 ... AND I got to Walmart today -- they had a Schick Hydro gift set with the razor, 5 razor blade refills, & shower gel for $9.96 (value of $20)! The $5 off coupon worked, knocking the price down to $4.96 -- and I'm mailing in the rebate, so it should be like them paying me $5 to try it out!! Hope this helps someone out!!

Although it will be free which is great I don't think they will pay you $5 extra. Doesn't the mail in rebate ask you to circle or notate on the receipt how much was paid which will be the price after coupons? Generally that's how all the MIRs are that I've used. If so I'd save the coupon and use it next time since you get it free by rebate anyways.

Well, it just said to circle the price on the receipt and said nothing about if you used a coupon. So I figured I'd test it out. Either way I'll break even at the very least.

I did this deal and they send you the purchase price of the razor before coupons! I have done tons of rebates and they always send you the price of the item before coupons. Be on the lookout also for a little peelie sticker on the back of the Hydro 3, for a survey. You log into the website they give you and enter in the code on the peelie, take the survey, and they send you a $20 visa gift card! Awesome

My Walmart would not let me use the coupon. Did your coupon go through or did they key it in? My coupon would not go through and they would not manually do it. :-(

Not true. That's for a different razor. I think a Gillete one. I went and ended up just buying the Hydro with the $5 coupon and will send in the rebate.

I'm pretty sure mine went straight through. I didn't notice the cashier having any trouble with it. Just handed it to her with the rest of my weekly stash.
