Hi
Does anyone have a preference on the disposable underwater cameras and where did you get the best price? Do any of them come with a flash?

I have always used the fuji. It runs about $8.75 at Walmart. Kodaks are a little more expensive, and to tell you the truth, I didn't notice any difference. I never really noticed if there was a flash, because we always take the camera to the beach, and there is no need for one when the sun is out.

I am going to Walmart today to get my camera's for my cruise (11 days!), so will check it out and let you know.

We used the Fuji underwater camera on our January 2002 trip at the Dolphin Swim and also on Castaway Cay based on recommendations from this board. I'm really glad we did since it takes great pictures underwater, in the water, and also if you don't have any other camera at the time out of the water. I was very suprised by it's quality. I wouldn't hesitate buying the Fuji underwater, again. One problem, I wish we had bought, two!!! Between the dolphins, banana boat and snorkeling, we really skimped on the pictures with it.

For regular shots, I use the cheapest brand that WalMart carries, which is 27 exposures for 3.94 each. I use the Kodak underwater cameras that are around 8.50 that also has 27 exposures, and is available at Walmart too. The pictures really turn out good. I also put an address label to each camera, so that in case i lose one, there is a chance that i could get it returned to me.

I do not have experience with underwater cameras, but wanted to add my 2 cents about the camera issue. I returned last month from a 4 night Wonder, and took a few disposables with me. I was not impressed with the indoor photos (very dark, dispite the flash), however, I was so glad I had one that took panoramic shots! My photos of the Wonder are (all puns intended) wonderful! I took several of the ship from various locations, and several from the ship of Castaway Cay! They are beautiful! So if you decide to purchase disposables, I would suggest one of them be a switchable panoramic. Have a great time!

Underwater Kodak does not have a flash. I don't think Fuji does either. I was really pleased with the pictures we took with our Kodak disp. cameras. Some that were taken on cab ride to Magens Bay St. Thomas look almost like postcards. With such beautiful views from up high, how could they help but look great?
I wish I'd taken a panorama one too. Will next trip.

I will second the regular disposable camera issue....our pics turned out wonderful, except for Animators Palate.....Just impossible to capture what goes on. One thing that made me so happy was the development that K-Mart provided.....they had a 5X7 option with Kodak processing. I marked that by mistake, but when the pics came back, I was really impressed at how professional the bigger pics look.

We even used ours (FUJI... came with a rubber strap to carry conveniently)... in the pools and spas aboard the ship! The pictures turned out wonderful! Be sure you have someone take a picture of you in the hot tub or Mickey pool!!! The pictures are great memories of the fun stuff on Deck 9.

We have always been very satisfied with the pictures we take with the Kodak water camera. It is under $9.00 at Wal-Mart. We use one for all beach vacations. We can leave our good cameras in the room or cabin and not worry about sand or water in our cameras. Many of the pictures look like postcards.

I agree about the underwater cameras. They take wonderful pictures. I used Fuji underwater ones. They are definitely on the list for the next cruise.

We have had very good experience with the Focus brand (Wal-marts' brand) and the Fuji underwater brand. We always give the kids these and some of their pictures turned out better than ours. They do a good job of getting some candid shots. The underwater pictures are generally very good unless you get quiet a ways down in the water where the light isn't as bright but even some of these are good and the Fuji strap is very handy in the water and out.:smooth:

I know the Kodak one will work to about 30'. After that it maintained it's water tight seal but the pressure was too much for teh film to advance. Just one of those fun things to do on a dive one day.
