I am looking for ideas for displaying our Disney trading pins. Right now we only have six and they are tucked away in a brass box. I would like them to be out (but protected) for others to enjoy. I like them so much they will probably never be traded though. LOL! Also, how can I tell if I am purchasing real pins if I buy them from ebay or other sites? Thanks.

Under the Collectors Board there's a lot of information about pin trading.
This thread is a good place to start as far as finding sellers on Ebay that people have had both good and bad experiences with : http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3076860

I've seen a lot of people display them on cork board as well as in shadow boxes. Right now I just have mine in baseball card sleeves inside of a Disney binder though I'm trying to come up with an idea for mine as well.
If you don't like how cork board looks, I'd imagine you could use foam board just the same and decorate it to your liking.

Stick 'em on a corkboard. I do that with my keychains but I've seen it work for pins, too.

For my pins, I like to buy a lanyard and attach them all on there, and then hang the lanyard up somewhere.

I don't display mine because I've got nowhere to do it... if I was going to, I'd probably cover a piece of corkboard in Disney-themed fabric, frame it, put them on there, and hang it on the wall.

I took a piece of dark blue remnant fabric from the store, stamped large Mickey heads on it in black (you could free-form them with a paintbrush), and hung it from a wooden dowel. Then attached the pins to that. I have a few more than 6, though. :goodvibes

My fabric is, I think, upholstery fabric so it's pretty dense material, dark blue with flecks of black in it. The stamped Mickey heads don't show up that well, to be honest, and the pins tend to cover them up anyways. So, basically, a piece of fabric is all you'd need (though I'd probably try to use a fairly thick piece, as the more pins you put the more stress you'll be adding to that fabric.)
