Displaying pins at Parks

DH and I don't trade pins, but have picked up ones that have appealed to us throughout the years (we maybe have 7-8 pins each). We used to wear them on a lanyard but this year we'll have our 15 month old daughter and we plan to use a carrier for most of the time in the parks, so wearing a lanyard is out. We've talked about framing them and putting them in a shadow box, but I like to bring them to the park because it's something little that to me really says "we're at Disney!" I thought about putting them on the small bag we carry around, but I already have one of those conservation pins on there falls off occasionally and would hate to lose any of my collector's pins. Then I thought that maybe putting them on the stroller somehow but we'd have to take them on/off as we leave the stroller frequently. So I'm stumped. Any ideas? Or is it time to retire them to display only?

I have done both. I have 2 deep picture frames that I have put black backing on to display about 30 of my pins. I also have another 10 or so pins on my lanyard.

I like the idea of ditching the lanyard and putting the pins on the bag. You mentioned you were concerned about losing the pins. Are you using the metal backs that you fasten with the little locking tool? They are more secure than the plastic Mickey backs.

I got these, great deal, no tools required, and a lot cheaper than the ones Disney sells.

Yes, you can still put them in shadow boxes later on!

You can buy the Disney type any place that sells pins at the parks. They are pricey and use a TINY allan/allen wrench to open and close. I prefer a locking back that doesn't use that pesky little tool, and are much less expensive. I get them ahead of time on eBay, from the same seller that a PP linked in her post.

These are very secure -- we use them to keep some pins on the bags we use at home, or on the lapels of our jackets.

Thanks everyone for the help! We leave on Thursday, so I'll have to stop by the craft store before we go and see if they have anything. If only it would stop snowing so I can make it there! If not I will look at the parks.

I didn't know about the non-Disney locking pins - I am going to check those out!
