displaying photos?

How do you display your photos in your home and how many do you have up? Are they all in one spot or scatted? I have hardly any art up but my photos. I counted the other day and I have around 100 pictures up (moslty 4by6). Im just currious to see what others do (anyone got pictures of there pictures hanging up? I love to look at other peoples homes,If you show off yours, Ill show ya mine LOL). TIA

Ive got some shelves up where I put pictures I've taken of the kids... I tend to swap a few out every so often as I get new shots. There are pictures scattered all over the rest of my house, here and there. I compete with hubbie's 3D work and my kids artwork for wall space. The only other art I have up is a signed Jeffery Newbury print of the Star Trek TNG crew and a couple of other signed comic book lithographs.

One wall by my computer is covered in prints that are just tacked up. It started out as a couple that I stuck there to keep them safe and kind of multiplied over the last few years.

I only have them in digital on a digital picture frame. And as screen savers on the three computers in the house.

Pics are up all over our house. Only in the guest bedroom do we have pictures that are not mine. We have a few frames that hold multiple 4x6 frames, in the living area and bedroom we have 3 each framed that are anywhere from 16x20 to 8x10. Also there's an 11x14 and 16x20 in our bathroom. Then we have a huge "collage" of pics in the dining area. It's got 25 5x7 pictures (5 across, 5 down). So it's more "wall art" looking than those typical collages that have different shaped windows in them. Most are scenic pictures with about 3-4 of DBF and I.

Also have a digital picture frame and I make shutterfly books that are on the shelf under our coffee table. I realized that I took all these pictures only to do nothing with them, so when I moved last summer I printed and framed my pictures. Most are matted as well.

I have far too many framed on the walls, and on shelves. I ran out of space for photos, so I mostly use them in my scrapbooks now. But what to do when I run out of space for the books...... I should try my hand at digital scrapbooking, but love playing with real paper and embellishments too much....

I just made a huge collage for the wall behind the couch, at least all those paint sample cards from magizines finally got a use! did you use nails or 3m tape to hold up your 25 frames? I would love to see how yours looks, could you post a picture? Ive done somthing simlar in the past and it looked odd.

I have mostly 4x6s in frames with matting. However, I am moving to larger prints, 16x20 and larger. Once it fits in the budget I am going to go with larger canvas wraps of my photos too. I need to start swapping the 4x6s around a bit I think. Maybe I will do it based on the seasons...

As for digital presentation I use is my AppleTV when I'm playing music through my TV. I sync my Aperture library to it and it just runs a Ken Burns-style slideshow on the 42-inch TV automatically. I like it because we get to see photos that we would otherwise never look at and the photos make for a good conversation starter with guests.

Once I get my iPad (saving up for a 27-inch iMac first) I fully expect to use the digital photo frame feature on a coffee or end table when guests are over. An expensive photo frame!

We've got a lot of framed pictures on table tops, and a few larger ones hanging throughout the house. My favorite is the montage of Cinderella castle pictures in our hallway.

I have a lot of pictures up, but most of them are either older than I am, or of me when I was much younger. I actually only have one frame up that is of pictures I have taken and it is has 3- 5x7 openings with different shots of my son playing baseball.

One of these days I am going to buy a big collage frame and put it up.

I have bunch of enlargements of my favorites around the house (8x12's, 20x30's, 12x18's) along with a few collages that I put together every few years. I also have a "photo hall" that has lots of pictures of the kids.

I also have over 3000 images that are randomly shown on my screen saver. Our computer is in the living room and I have a 22" monitor. So when the computer is not being used a new picture is shown every 7 seconds.

If I could find a way to mount the frames without a ton of nails (that would be easy to change out) I would do a photo hall. I have one odd wall with a great view from the living room. right now its got some NYC prints and a shelf of police memoribla but i think a nice tiled photo frame style wall would look great.

Have you ever tried the 3M Command hooks? Or are your frames too heavy for them? These have worked well for me, but I mostly have cheapo, lightweight Ikea frames

At my office, I have a 24" HD video frame that I built from a computer monitor, a WD TV Live, and a USB drive. At home, I'm working on doing something similar with our soon-to-arrive 50" TV downstairs.

I also have a bunch of framed pictures around the house (about 20). I mostly use 11x14s. I'm considering getting a printer so that I can crank out more prints more easily.

I bought it as one frame. I put collage in quotes because I consider collages the ones of different shapes and sizes (I hate those) so this is just 5x5 of 5x7's. It's nice too because you can make out the pictures even from far away. This way you can see them from all the way across the room. 4x6's I use in hallways and such where you're close to the picture normally. It's the focal point of our downstairs living area (kitchen, dining area and living room are all connected). I apologize for the quality... I took it with my blackberry because I didn't feel like getting my real camera out

I use the 3M velcro strip things. The hold really well, especially 8x10's, 8x12's and smaller. For bigger prints I just use more. One on each corner then add one or two down each side.

Sometimes they can stick to well so you have to be careful when removing the frame from the wall.

I have to do something about my "framed" photos. I had one done of my kids when my daughter was 6 months and my son was 2 which is still hanging in the LR front and center.
I have a couple of collages as well.

But what i like best is my digital photo frame. At Christmas, I scanned in a whole bunch of pics of my kids/pets with Santa that I don't have room for. I used ACDsee's Picture Frame Manager to drop them onto the memory stick and just plugged it in and viola!
It made me so excited to be able to display my all of the photos I don't have room for that I blogged about it.

We have a Disney Trip coming up in November (182 days!! Woot!) and I am going to be able to create a new "album" with Picture Mgr and you know I'll be showing off my Disney pics all of the time!

Oh and the other thing I like about Picture Magr is that it gives me a great way to show off my scrapbook pages. I am a digital scrapper and I can upload my LO's to the frame, and I can show them off that way.

My sister kinda laughs at me ... says I have my walls "wallpapered" with pictures! Both sides of the hall; above the couch; fireplace mantle; all the bedrooms; refrigerator . My husband and I are also huge collectors of Dallas Cowboys memorabilia -- lots of autographed photos, etc. which takes up wall space too. I've finally started replacing my daughters (ages 32 & 27) with my granddaughters photos! Am running out of room. BUT...my photos are precious to me and I can't bear to "hide" them in a photo album or scrapbook.
