We took a 4 night cruise on the Dream, November 4-8, 2012 as the 1st part of our honeymoon. It was my first cruise, but DH had cruised before (though not DCL). We loved it! The ship was beautiful. The adult areas are nice, and I would definitely recommend Palo and Remy. They were incredible! We loved serenity bay (adult area on castaway cay).

We just kind of did our own thing, it was easier than you'd think being on a ship with several thousand other people. We booked a room with an extended verandah and were on the back of the ship. The room was much bigger than I had anticipated and I don't think I could cruise without a verandah. It was nice to sit out there in the morning or before dinner.

We weren't super excited ahead of time to sit with people we didn't know at dinner in the dining rooms, but DCL put us with a couple celebrating their first anniversary and a couple who got married the week before we did, all around the same age, so we really enjoyed our table. You can request your own, or get room service if you'd prefer that.

I would highly recommend it. It was a great way to unwind after our wedding before returning to Disney park madness on our honeymoon.

awesome! thanks! We plan on going to the food and wine fest for 3 or 4 days after as well!

My first cruise isn't until November of this year (3 nights on the dream), but I can't wait already! DF and I have booked a concierge cat V stateroom for our honeymoon on the Fantasy in November next year. I'm planning on a couples massage, a cabana on the adult beach on CC day, Palo brunch and dinner! It's DF's birthday onboard as well so we need something special to celebrate :D

We did a 3 day on the Dream, our first cruise. We mostly kept to ourself and I didn't prebook anything. We actually spent some time in the room watching old Disney movies (we were tired from the Disney Wedding). But we did do the tequila tasting (fun, lots of alcohol) and went to see Frankenweenie (on opening day in the movie theater) and saw the nightly shows. We also had a lovely dinner at Remi (wine pairing and all, very romantic).

Some possible suggestions - we're not social people and I wish I knew to request our own table. We DID NOT like sitting with others, but some people are very social and they would have been fine. You can also rent a cabana on Castaway Cay. It can be romantic. We didn't because by the time I paid the remainder off, they were all gone, but that could be nice. However, I just got off the boat and grabbed chairs and still had a great time on the beach with the hubs! I think it depends on what you're feeling. We specifically didn't mind being around people, but kept to ourselves and had a great time.
