disneyworld without a car?

Correct, no resort to resort busses.

Yes, you can get a bus from park to park, but not DTD to park or vice versa.

Robert P's rules of WDW transpo:
When you leave the room in plenty of time for your ADR, a bus will be waiting, and you'll be terribly early (at least 30 minutes or more). If you are cutting it close at all, the busses you need to take will disappear into the Bermuda Triangle (or Mars) for at least 30-40 minutes, and you will be late for your ADR.

Thank you for this information!! I thought that if you were at AK and wanted to get to MK or another park that you had to take a bus to a resort property then get a bus to the park that you wanted. That is why I thought maybe a rental car would go better. But knowing that if I am at AK that I can grab a bus to either HS, MK or Epcot makes a huge difference!!!

If you are catching a bus from one park to another...is there a bus stop for them as well? Like instead of going to the bus stop for a resort do the park buses come right up front? The buses to the resorts..do they have a sign in front of the bus area that says Polynesian or Pop century? Or do you go by a number?

Sorry for all the questions! This is the last part I am trying to figure out!

I would pull my hair out if I had to wait for Disney transportation. Just because I don't want to wait 20 minutes for a bus and stand the entire ride next to someone loud and/or smelly doesn't make me 'in a hurry' - it just means I prefer to walk to my car and drive directly to my destination. It means I can spend the entire day away from the hotel because I brought everything I need for the entire day in the trunk. It means I can change my mind and head to an alternate destination at any point. It means I can run over to the Poly from Pop and grab a Tonga Toast from Captain Cook's before driving to the Wide World of Sports to pick up our race packets and then head directly to Typhoon Lagoon to spend the rest of the morning.... in less than 30 minutes. Some people thinks it's a burden to drive. I think the loss of freedom is the burden.

Yes, Disney Transportation is free. You've already paid for the privilege in your room rate and your tickets. They do an excellent job of getting you from your hotel to a park and back. If you deviate from that it will increase your time spent in transit considerably. Some people don't care. I do. That's a judgment call you have to make yourself.

Man, thaks for all of the replies. We always go to DL and we live close enough to drive. Sowe never have to worry about drinks and cheap snacks. I guess if I need to get those items like milk, juice or water we will need to rent a car? Are there any stores onsite? Also, I realize this may be a really dumb question, but what is the TTC? :confused3
Thanks,
Goldie

depends on how much you want to get, but there will be places right in your resort to get that stuff. We stayed at AKL and they had a great selection of everything, including liquor, wine and cigars if you are so inclined, not to mention, candy, soda, juice, milk, snacks, breakfast items, etc.

TTC = Ticket and Transportation Center, it is near the Magic Kingdom.

I second the suggestion for wegoshop.com or garderngrocer.com :thumbsup2 Both are VERY conveinent. I have used both. Our first trip we used wegoshop.com , nice but I had to go to WalMart and write down everything I wanted to buy, the quantity, price, etc...
Our second trip we used gardengrocer.com, they have a website that has everything you need and you actually can shop online on their website. It's awesome!!Only costs $12 to deliver, definitely worth it. I am doing gardengrocer.com again for this trip, and I would recommend them to anyone who is flying (especially if you have small children- carrying all those diapers, wipes, snacks, etc. can really weight a bag down)

Good luck!!! Have a great trip!!:hippie:

we, too, used gardengrocer.com on our recent trip and had a great experience. The water and snacks were perfect for our family. Bell services kept cold stuff cold until our arrival. Worth the money.

Yes, there are marked stops where you are to wait for the other parks. The only park that doesn't go directly to the gates is MK. You will be brought to the TTC and need to grab a monorail or ferry.

So all the buses drop you off at park entrances except MK? After you get off the bus you have to take a monorail or ferry into the park? Can you walk it?
Sorry for the questions! I just need to figure this out!

Bus service from a WDW Resort to the MK you will be dropped off at the MK entrance not the TTC. You won't have to take the boat or monorial.

Bus service from another park then will take you to the TTC and then you will have to take a boat or monorial. No you can't walk from the TTC to the MK.
