Hi everybody !

We are currently planning our 8th trip to Disneyworld, but this time we are inviting my mother in law and sister in law, who don't understand English. Although some rides don't need explaining or translating, I'm wondering if for some shows or rides an audio translation is available.

I don't want to disrupt other's enjoyment of the rides by translating the jungle cruise or the Nemo show to my family, and would really appreciate knowing if other options are available.

Thanks for your answers ! :)

I don't believe there is anything except for the park maps in different languages

here is the link all though it dose not tell you much. it looks like it only works on the preceded attraction so Jungle curse would not be one of them.

Find the information you’re looking for, including:

  • Guidemaps in English, German, Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese
  • Complimentary Attraction Translation Devices
  • Accessibility information
  • Annual Pass sales
  • Times Guides, detailing show and parade information
  • Up-to-the-minute theme park news

I can say for sure that there is no translation available at the Jungle Cruise, sorry! But I have heard many foreign guests who don't speak any English still enjoy the ride :)

Lol Robo, this must have been the funniest ride ever.

Thanks for your help, Gap2368 ! This is exactly what I was looking for - and I even went on the Disneyworld website and couldn't find it ! I hope these work for french language.

Again, thank you so much for your help !

Yep, once I knew what to look for, I found additional info. These devices are called Ears to The World, they are free (although a deposit is asked), and if anyone needs more details, they can be found here : https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/attraction-translation-devices/

The device works for 50 shows and ride, including Jungle Cruise, Test Track, Haunted Mansion for example ! This is great !

"Jungle Curse" :rotfl: The jokes aren't THAT bad!

Well, not really the FUNNIEST.
More like the STRANGEST.
(Which, I guess, WAS really quite funny due to it's strangeness.)

WDW was being used to help train Chinese CMs for the (then) new Hong Kong Disneyland.

The problem with Jungle Cruise (or Jungle Curse) is that the jokes in the script are mostly "double-entendre"
for common English words and phrases...
but, if your first language is NOT English, the "entendre" does not compute "double" or "single."

The Chinese CMs would attempt to make the humor work, but since THEY didn't "get" the joking meaning
of the phrases, they couldn't SELL it very well.

We rode JC more than once during the training and marveled at each "unique" experience.

;)
