Day 5 - Disembarkation
We all got up early and couldn't believe our trip was over. Did not want to leave the boat. Went to breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at Triton's and said our final goodbye to our servers and tablemates. After breakfast walked around the boat for alittle while longer and tried not to get off the boat until we absolutely had to. At around 9:10 a.m. made our way off the Disney Wonder (Love the sign that is hanging up that says "See Ya Real Soon") and all my son could say is "Daddy, can we come back next week", he was so cute.
Got off the ship and our bags were right there waiting for us (Had to put all bags outside cabin by 11:00 p.m the night before or you had to carry them off the ship and through customs yourself). DISEMBARKATION WAS VERY VERY EASY AND FAST! Towncar was there waiting for us and off we went to the Airport. OUR TRIP WAS OVER, HOW SAD!
Here are a few thoughts and opinions:
EMBARKATION DAY......... Quick and easy. Make sure you have all your forms filled out before your get to the terminal, makes things move much faster. Get there early so that the kids (or yourself) can take pictures with the characters in the terminal, it is a great way to start your vacation. Don't get alarmed if there are many people in front of you waiting to board. The line moves very fast. Be sure to pack a bag with bathing suits, because as soon as the kids see the Mickey Pool they want to go in! Make sure you attend the Sail Away Party, it is so much fun and makes you finally realize that your finally there! I wouldn't worry too much about dressing up for dinner on the first night (even if it is Triton's) just take your time enjoying your first few hours on the boat. Most people are dressed casual on this night. DON'T FORGET TO GET A BAHAMA MAMA!
ROOMS............ Can only speak for a Category 11. It was alittle small but very nice and CLEAN! Your stateroom host will clean your room at least 2 times a day. The towel animals that they leave everynight are so cute and the kids look forward to going back to the cabin to see them. BRING THE OVER THE DOOR SHOE HANGER.
DINING............ Food is good. Not over the top but good. DESSERT IS OVER THE TOP! There is a variety to choose from on the menu. So everyone should be able to find something that they like. All the restaurants are very nice. Of course, you will have a favorite but you will like all of them.
SERVERS...... Get to know your servers. They are the best. They make you feel so welcomed. You look foward to going to dinner every night knowing that you are going to get great service.
ACTIVITIES....... Particpate. You will have a great time. Bingo is fun. They have alot of family game shows in the family club (Studio Sea), thats a blast. Great pool side activities.
POOLS........ The pools are nice. I thought the Goofey Pool would have been a little bigger but it looked like everyone was having a great time in the Goofey Pool. On the At Sea Day, they are crowded but that is the only time they were crowded. Good music at the pools. (Mostly Radio Disney Style Music)
SHUTTERS......... EXPENSIVE. This is where most of my money went (besides those tropical drinks). Shutters is expensive but the pictures are very nice. I couldn't pass them up. Make sure you go everynight to review your pictures, its exciting. The photographers are always snapping pictures and there are alot of opportunities to get your picture taking with the characters.
DRINKS......... COSTLY BUT GREAT! Love those tropical drinks. If you can't find a drink that you like, just tell the bartender what you like in a drink and he will make you a drink to suit your taste.
PARTIES........ The sail away party and the tropical deck party are great, great, great fun. The bands are so good and play great music. They really get the crowd going. Don't miss the dessert buffet on tropical night even though it doesn't start until around 11:00 p.m., the set up is something to see and all the desserts are delicious.
DISEMBARKATION........ SAD BUT HARMLESS. Try to hang around the ship until they throw you off. Your vacation isn't over until your on your way to the airport or if you drove, until your in the car.
Well, I hope I covered everyting. We are looking forward to our next Disney Cruise, when it will be, I don't know. I am hoping next summer sometime (Have to save some money!) Keep your fingers crossed for me.
For everyone who is going on a Disney Cruise soon, HAVE A GREAT TIME AND ENJOY EVERY MOMENT!
