Hi! I am taking my 8 year old twin girls to WDW next month (39 days!!!), and we are going to do the Mickey's Not So Scary party along with a trip to BBB and lunch in Cinderella's castle! Needless to say, we need to dress up! They want to be Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty, but we want to get the costumes at the big Disney Store in downtown disney so I don't have to pack them there (and get glitter on EVERYTHING). I know they are a little more expensive, but my girls are a hard fit and we don't have a disney store near us to see exactly what size they will need. Now, I was just looking at the disney store online and they have the Deluxe versions of these dresses that look so beautiful. Are these going to be a better quality than the WDW ones? I'm wondering if I should just order them and take them with us, if they are pretty much the same price as the wdw basic ones, but are the deluxe version! Does anyone have any insight to the quality of these dresses? Thanks!!

I am not sure what the quality is like as we don't have a Disney store near us so I haven't seen one in person. I would imagine that they are nicer fabrics and look like they are "fuller" dresses (more layers to the skirt probably). That Sleeping beauty deluxe dress looks gorgeous and looks way nicer than the one they sell at Disney. I don't remember the Rapunzel dress at Disney to compare it to the deluxe version on disneystore.com

The Disney World dresses are $64.95. You can also just buy the dresses at BBB when they go for their appointment. My 6 year old is in a 5/6 dress but she is shortie :)

I have always just brought dresses from home. This year was the first time we bought at Dress at Disney which was Anna's Coronation Dress that was only available at Disney World at that time.

I think the dresses at the Disney Stores are nicer. I don't know if the dresses @ BBB are different than the ones sold in stores. I like the peace of mind of packing the dress. What if you can't find the dress or size you need once you're there? I just got a 15% off coupon in the mail yesterday from the Disney store. You could always get a light weight garment bag to put the dresses in and then pack them? Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Just a thought - I recently got princess dresses at nancyaugust.com. They came last week and I was thrilled on how well made and beautiful they were (they are priced similar to disney store). They have sizing charts on the site and many of the dresses have sides that lace up, which allows for more flexibility in fit (can shrink or expand sides a couple of inches). They don't have the plastic princess pendants on the dress like disney store (my DD8 has outgrown the look) and the dresses are fully lined so no itchiness (my DD8 is also very irritated by the itchy dress material). Just something to consider. They have disney inspired dresses and Rapunzel and Aurora are among the dresses. Just wanted to mention this if it might be a good fit for your needs. Good luck!
