I was in the middle of placing an online order this past Sunday, and the Disneystore.com site went down. I needed to order some things for my babysitter's daughter for her birthday (which is tomorrow), so I called to process the order right away. It was a longggg process, during which I had to tell the CM the "online price" as opposed to whatever price came up on her computer, and she had to override manually.
Asked for 3 day express delivery to be sure the order would be here in time for tomorrow. Guess what never showed up today? *sigh* Called to find out the status of the package, and when they tracked it through FedEx's site, it appeared that it was delivered...but to a different town. Called FedEx - it was delivered yesterday - left at the front door. Just WHOSE front door is the current mystery, since the babysitter was there all day.
My point to post this is not to gripe and moan about Disneystore, per se, but to give a small warning to anyone having things shipped. Disney's standard way of shipping is to have the courier deliver WITH NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. I use FedEx all the time at work, and I know that you have to TELL FedEx it's OK to leave a package with no signature - you have to sign a release. Sooooo...the moral of the story - if you're ordering something from Disney (or any other site for that matter), TELL them that you WANT a signature for your package. It's something that didn't occur to me, because as I said before, FedEx's normal procedure is to get a signature unless you tell them otherwise. I believe they should inform the customer, and let them choose whether or not they want a signature for the package, especially when they're paying EXTRA to have it express shipped. *SIGGGHHHHH*
