Disneystore.com Ordering Woes

I was in the middle of placing an online order this past Sunday, and the Disneystore.com site went down. I needed to order some things for my babysitter's daughter for her birthday (which is tomorrow), so I called to process the order right away. It was a longggg process, during which I had to tell the CM the "online price" as opposed to whatever price came up on her computer, and she had to override manually.

Asked for 3 day express delivery to be sure the order would be here in time for tomorrow. Guess what never showed up today? *sigh* Called to find out the status of the package, and when they tracked it through FedEx's site, it appeared that it was delivered...but to a different town. Called FedEx - it was delivered yesterday - left at the front door. Just WHOSE front door is the current mystery, since the babysitter was there all day.

My point to post this is not to gripe and moan about Disneystore, per se, but to give a small warning to anyone having things shipped. Disney's standard way of shipping is to have the courier deliver WITH NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED. I use FedEx all the time at work, and I know that you have to TELL FedEx it's OK to leave a package with no signature - you have to sign a release. Sooooo...the moral of the story - if you're ordering something from Disney (or any other site for that matter), TELL them that you WANT a signature for your package. It's something that didn't occur to me, because as I said before, FedEx's normal procedure is to get a signature unless you tell them otherwise. I believe they should inform the customer, and let them choose whether or not they want a signature for the package, especially when they're paying EXTRA to have it express shipped. *SIGGGHHHHH*

Very frustrating. I hope your friend ends up with the package on time. Getting a signature for a package sounds like a good idea to me.

YIKES Gail!!
How frustrating. I hope you get your package on time
and thanks for the warning

Ouch! I ordered from disneystore.com a little over a week ago. I didn't ask for special shipping and the package arrived in about 4 days. Did you get the free 3 months to Disney Club Blast when you ordered? I wasn't expecting it but the box popped up after I submited the order. :) Hope you can track your package down!

I had nothing but trouble with their web site for 2 days running. I finally tossed out the catalog without ordering anything. Oh well! I guess they didn't want my $$$.

I know how you feel, because I'm stuck in the middle, trying to find my allergy medicine. I want to continue my allergy shots, but haven't been in Texas long enough to develop allergies to the local stuff. So my Dr's office in Arizona shipped my allergy serum, by mail, to the Dr's office here in Texas on October 10. But according to the local office, it's not been received. I tried to trace it, but since it went via mail, I'm stuck.

I figure I'll wait one more week, then try to get one of the offices to do something. I personally think it's here, and just mis-marked.:(

Good luck with your package.
