Off to the Magic Kingdom today. Somehow it just isn’t a Disney trip until we first step onto Main Street. We got to the parking lot and were initially upset that we just missed the last spot in the row and got flagged all the way to the end to start the next row. As we got down there, the cast member said not to worry because it was a great spot. He was right. We were at the farthest point from the tram, but that put us just a short walk from the TTC, so we didn’t need the tram at all.

We zipped through Fantasyland in about an hour. We’ve found that starting there lets us do a lot of attractions in a short amount of time before the place fills up. Then we moved on to Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland, etc. We had lunch at Pinocchio’s and dinner at Cosmic Ray’s.

The newly redone Hall of Presidents is excellent. The pre-show movie is very good and the main show is great. Very well done rehab.

We missed Space Mountain and TTA. It just isn’t the same without them.

We actually took a break and went back to the house for a while in the afternoon before returning for dinner, some more rides and then SpectroMagic and Wishes.

Great report Steve! Can you tell us a little more about where you stayed this time? Number of bedrooms, price range, ammenities, location...

Sure. We rented 3031 Bransbury Court in the Lindfields development. That's on 192 West about 4 miles from Disney. It is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath pool home owned by a nice couple from Ireland. The wife is actually a famous designer who hosts a couple of TV home shows in Ireland. The house had all the usual amenities including screened-in in-ground pool, fully equipped kitchen, large flat screen TV with DVD player and a stock of DVDs in the living room, washer and dryer, etc. We paid $100/night total including all taxes.

I heard the TTA was suppose to open September 1, but got pushed back to September 16. I think they don't want people looking into Space Mountain.

Interesting. One of my favorite memories as a kid was getting to ride through Space Mountain on the TTA while it was being rehabbed. The lights were all on and you could actually see the inside of it. We rode the TTA about 4x so we could sneak more peeks!

I don't think that's the issue. They could easily cover the windows so that you couldn't see into Space Mountain. They are rehabbing TTA also so they just may not be done yet.
