Disneyshopping vs. World of Disney

Does disneyshopping.com carry the same items as World of Disney? There are really cute nightgowns for $8 on the website, but we leave in 2 weeks, so I thought maybe I could just get things at the parks.

More generally, does anyone know if they have similar items, not just the nightgowns I referenced above?

From my experience, the clothing IS different, even if it's similar styles.

I personally think it is different. All of the stuffed animals I've ordered have said on the tush tag "DisneyShopping exclusive" and none of the ones I've seen on the website I saw in the World of Disney store.

Someone I know who works at Disney said the pins bought from the website look "cheaper" but that is just his opinion and I really wouldn't go by his advice.

At least for mens items, most items at World of Disney are completely different than what you will find on disneyshopping.com. World of Disney and the other DTD shops have a much greater selection of Disney stuff. For watches, they have even a better selection than Disneyland or the cruise ships. For example, on the disneyshopping website, there might be about 10 different watches from which to choose. At World of Disney, there are probably 50+ watches from which to choose -- some inexpensive ones and some that are over $1,000 and everything in between. There won't be 50 different nightgowns, but there will be a good selection plus you can always shop in the stores at the parks as well.

If you're looking for "bargains", you might try to visit the Character Premier store at the nearby outlet mall. They have a lot of WDW items on sale and sometimes you can find some great deals on WDW merchandise there. It's hit or miss on selection. We've gone at times and bought nothing as the selection was horrible, but have also been and spent quite a bit on some great inexpensive souvenirs and clothes for ourselves and others at deep discounts. It's just discontinued clothing and merchandise from WDW. If you go in summer, you might find some great deals on sweatshirts and sweaters from the previous winter.
