I placed an order on 10/31, today one of the items is a few dollars less than it was when I ordered. Haven't even received it yet.

Called up guest services and they say they don't do price adjustments. Is this right? or am I getting incorrect info?

They told me the same thing - said that they are offering many promotions online and overlap and can't continue to price adjust when they are offering $'s off, free shipping, etc. But they did say that there is no longer a sales tax charged for shipments (except to Calif, Kansas, and South Carolina). I live in Calif, but I have to ship lots of presents to Maryland and NJ - looks like a good deal.

Also told me to look for lots of great promos over the entire holiday season!!!! Can't wait.

Unfortunately, that's correct. I was told they stopped doing price adjustments on October 1st.

Here's what their website says:

DisneyShopping.com merchandise pricing is subject to change at any time. Price adjustments will not be applied to prior purchases.

Be sure to check your local sales and use tax laws. I know that here in NC, and probably other states, when we buy something out of state or from a catalog/internet retailer, if we pay less sales tax than our local rate, we owe the difference to the state. It's called Use Tax when you pay it after the fact directly to the state. You add it on to your income tax return. So technically, there's no savings when you don't have to pay sales tax when you order something online.

Are returns still allowed @ Disney stores? If so, just reorder the item (if it's cheaper to do so) and return the first one. That's what I would do if there is a significant savings.

As of October 1, the Disney Stores are no longer accepting returns from the catalog or online. Found this out the hard way on 10/3, when I was trying to return something there!

thanks for helping. I'm a little less mad now, it was only a few dollars, but I haven't even received it yet. Arghh ;)

Oh well, it could be worse, I could have paid full price for it from the beginning.

I just ordered stuff too and it went down in price....about $20. I was upset they wouldn't price protect.

If your item hasn't shipped yet, you can cancel your order and rebuy. If it has shipped you're out of luck

I'm in NC and have my taxes prepared by a CPA and have never heard of paying a "use tax" after the fact for an item I purchased over the internet or catalog. I shop that way often because of the savings when there is free or reduced shipping. I don't see any way that can be tracked by the state to have an amount that you would owe.
