Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Is the scaffolding still up by Yacht Club?
These pictures were posted on a FB group, taken yesterday.

The poster commented:

“The cabanas are completely ripped. The yacht club no longer has scaffolding on it but the beach club now does. They seem to be doing most of the work all around stormalong Bay not necessarily in the pools at the moment.”

Welp that was unexpected as of last week. Looks like we'll switch to our backup resort.

Four-Month Exterior Refurbishment Announced for Disney’s Beach Club Resort
https://wdwnt.com/2025/05/four-mont...r-disneys-beach-club-resort/?adt_ei=*|EMAIL|*

According to the Disney’s Beach Club Resort webpage, the Walt Disney World hotel will undergo routine exterior maintenance from early June through September 2025.

During the four-month period, the resort’s porte cocheres will be closed. Valet, luggage assistance, and transportation will remain available.

Disney states “efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours.”

The refurbishment is overlapping with construction at Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool, which have been closed since January. During refurbishment of the pool area, crews have also been fixing up the nearby exterior of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

The Beach Club lobby was refurbished in 2023.

The Disney Skyliner, which has a station near the resorts, will close for refurbishment in January 2026.

Yes I posted on Tuesday and both the Yacht Club and Beach Club are impacted before WDWNT read our discussion to create their story yesterday.... Again DIS is first. It all started based on the emails the guests were receiving concerning B/C starting in early June through September 2025 And Y/C's ongoing refurbishment additional details for early July through October 2025.

Here is the latest Note for Y/C

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
will be undergoing routine exterior maintenance from early July through October 2025. During this time, the porte cocheres will be closed. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available, and most Resort amenities will continue to be offered. Additionally, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for routine maintenance through June 2025.

Just venting again but it's disappointing they just this week announced this We got excited that the pool was almost certainly going to be done in time for our mid-July trip - then this. With 16 people in our group we're (not surprisingly) divided as to whether we stay and put up with it or go with our backup reservations at Polynesian,.

Another update from my run this morning. The wall along the back entrance to Yacht Club is coming down right now. Beach Club wall will remain for now.
Thank you so much for including these. Really hoping it reopens late June or earlier.

Yes it is a pain, and your trip sounds like a once in a lifetime group trip but Disney often finds additional issues when they start maintenance work. What is so off putting at Y/C that you might move to the Poly, and face multiple transportation challenges for your large group?

Location, location, location is key at WDW, where does your group plan to spend the bulk of their time? By mid July the work should only be focused on the front of the resorts overlooking the parking lots.

Your celebration, your pocketbook, your call! If it will ease your anxiety, make the call to move. If you’re going to constantly be worried about scrims and noise or whatever you’re worried about in the time leading up to your trip you’re rather robbing yourself of the joy of anticipation.

I'm making at back up reservation too. Right now we are booked at the GF July 20-25 and YC July 25-August 1.

I'm going to make the back up reservation at the GF July 25-August 1. That way I'll have until June 25 to figure out what we want to do, based on how it seems to be going.

That's the issue with a large group. plusses and minus for both locations. The strange thing we're realizing is we were never really in agreement for the Beach Club vs Poly even if there was no construction. With small kids the fact SAB is so spread out is a concern. Packing everyone up for MK in the morning three days and getting back for naps. Vs later nights at Epcot and Studios. (We talked of split stay but for 7 nights doesn't seem worth it)

But we're reading what you've said already about it only being the front by mid-July. That makes a big difference.

Thanks Dave - appreciate your input greatly!

As my daughter said to this old guy (me) who was "almost a hippie" back in the day - this is very much a first world problem. In fact, it's "top 10% problem.

I thanked her for grounding me.

so the lobby construction is not an issue? If we stayed at Poly we thouhght of going over there for a drink and relax inside. We're have reservations for 1900 breakfast anyway. but the lobby is a full on construction zone now.

Will the small children be part of the later nights at Epcot and HS? Are your group dining plans located within or around your park day visits?

Your group might actually be better served by making your base at the Poly since you have (3) days / mornings at MK for the mid-day naps for the small children, and anyone else that wants a mid-day break from July heat. And the much smaller Lava, and Oasis pools are easier to navigate vs SAB. They also have a new Kids Splash pad in front the Island tower and the new zero entry Cove pool. There is also the Kiki Tikis Splash Play area right by the Lava pool.

Just to be very clear, please take my comments are just that comments. As I indicated earlier Disney works at their own pace, and anything may pop up as they start exterior work.

My above post is clear: By mid July the work should only be focused on the front of the resorts overlooking the parking lots. I don't work for Disney or have inside knowledge as to their maintenance plans or any weekly or daily updates. Scaffolding can move in 1-2 days, it pops up and disappears quickly or it may stay in 1 location for weeks at a time.

I completely understand. But if you're wrong our attorneys will be in touch... (just kidding obviously).

The way this was sprung on us it wouldn't completely shock us to find out Beaches and Cream is closing - which would REALLY make this old guy cranky. Craving a malt from there big time.

and Dave - though I didn't quote it here you've captured our thinking regarding Poly being a better choice with the very little ones (two of them are only about one and a half and one not yet 5). No matter where we are in the evening it will be an earlier night for them. They'd sleep on the way back probably. At my age I may be joining them.

Thanks much!

Just found out a few minutes ago construction ongoing at the Polynesian too. One person said it's very loud. No more detail than that but similar notice sent out recently.
