Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Got the same email today…does that impact bussing for MK and AK at all? We have never stayed at YC before so don’t know anything about the bus routes
No the Disney bus pickup / drop off area is located outside, and to the left of the front of the hotel that will still be accessible as they indicate in the email. It has its own covered area.

Ouch. And still have to pay full price - no discount offered. Times 5 rooms. Happy 50th anniversary - it will break my families heart - especially the grandkids - but seriously considering cancelling the whole thing. I don't what this to be our last Disney memory. Had they told us this before today we would have rethought the whole trip. No one wants the Swan/Dolphin again (been there last 3 or 4 times) and we're not excited about the Boardwalk either yet we want the Epcot / HS area.

Sorry - just venting here. Saved up 25K for this and no one is excited anymore.
We just got back two weeks ago from our stay at Yacht Club. We had been notified about the pool but not the exterior work. I had learned about the exterior work from earlier posts and photos on this thread. I was a bit worried about not being able to use the balcony. It was absolutely fine. It seemed to us they were working by sections. Scaffolding was up by sections and they were working on roofs by sections. We got connecting rooms with our daughter and son-in-law and our views and balconies were not obstructed. There was a bit of noise in the morning when the construction workers arrived but we needed to get up and to the parks anyways (it may have been around 8 am). Hubby and I came back a few afternoons for rest and we could barely hear the construction going on. There is a chat feature on the Disney app so perhaps try the chat to ease your mind about where you will be located and express your concern. We did request an upper floor and having our rooms near each other. We got connecting rooms and the 4th floor. Hoping you have a great trip and contact Disney to ease your mind. It may help.

Wait - does this mean ONLY Yacht Club? Not Beach Club?
No they both have notices posted. Here is the one for the Beach Club.

Here is the latest Note:

Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be undergoing routine exterior maintenance from early June through September 2025. During this time, the porte cocheres will be closed. While efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, construction may be noticeable during daytime hours. All services—including valet, luggage assistance, and transportation—will remain available, and most Resort amenities will continue to be offered. Additionally, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for routine maintenance through June 2025.

I was at the YC CL WV in March and the scaffolding was outside my balcony. Didn’t bother us at all. There were there around 9 AM and gone by 4:30 PM. I was out of the room at 9 AM and back at 230 PM. Still had a semi decent view for the 5 days. Work was everywhere from the roof and the sides of the buildings to the pool. Back entrance was somewhat blocked( they is a side door entry and exit near the back door). If part of the front is blocked I am sure there will be a way in and out so you can access your car, Minnie van, Lyft or bus transportation. I thought the construction would have been a problem but it was not. If you love the resort and the pool should be open by the end of June, stay where you are. There are so many entry ways and exits out of both the BC and YC that I would not be to concerned. Again I was there and it was not a problem. And I didn’t have SAB just the three minor pools.

I wonder where the outside refurb is happening now. I also recevied the same letter for July 4-12. Maybe I should just cancel. We use our outdoor space. I booked with a discount and wonder if they will place me with the "cage" around my balcony. I've not had the best of luck lately.

Excited to be back twice this year to the BC/YC, after our 2 week visit in February at FQ. BC the third week in June after our weekend before Wish cruise. YC for 8 nights beginning of September.

We enjoy walking to Epcot and strolling along the path to either HS or visit one of the other hotels, including those on the sky ride.

Did get two notices so far, for our June stay.
