Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

So we are just back from an 11 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge and booked a 2024 bounce back at Beach Club! We have never stayed here before and are really looking forward to the stay next year. The location seems fantastic, we are usually somewhere near MK, either WL or Poly, but the deal at Beach Club was too good to pass up.

Looking forward to reading all the info in this thread and participating as the year goes on. I think my only concern is not getting a full balcony as we basically live on the balcony every night of our trip, lol. I did have the cast member that setup the package note that we would love a full balcony so hoping that at least gives us a small chance.

If I'm not being too nosy I'm curious of the rate you got with your bounce back. We are headed to disney in Oct and am wondering if I should book a bounce back too.

The discount was 35%, which to me was great! As a package, we booked an 11 night stay with an 8 day park ticket and the waterpark add on. Total for the was around $7800 for 4 people in a resort view room. Rack rate, when checking direct from the Disney site, would be right around $10,300.

That's an excellent rate. Just about $2200 more than our 7 night stay with 7 day park hopper tickets for three people.

There is a facebook post today in a YC/BC group I belong to saying there is a bug going around at the YC right now. Some moms are reporting fever and vomiting and needing to take their kids to the nearest clinic.
Yikes! We checked out at YC on 8/15. Glad we missed it!

FWIW, we had a lovely time at the Yacht Club. We'd booked a Garden View room (now recategorized as Resort View) and had requested a view of the quiet pool (which was part of the Garden View category when we booked), but were pixie-dusted with an unsolicited upgrade to Water View, with a room (3081, I believe) that faced the gazebo courtyard to one side, and Crescent Lake to the other, with a wonderful view of the EPCOT fireworks from the balcony.

Online check-in worked flawlessly, our room was clean with everything in good working order, and even though we never made it to Stormalong Bay (it was too hot to want to swim in heated water, and we were too busy anyway!), we really enjoyed our stay.

We are going to YC CL in Dec 2023. We already have a reservation for YC CL for 13 days in Feb 2024. Can I change our reservation to bounce back when we get there in Dec? Possibly canceling Feb 2024 while we're there and then rebooking it again? I'm thinking probably not. What do you think?

First there need to YC CL inventory available for the Bounce Back Offer while you are there in Dec. 2023. The BB phone rep should be able to manage any required adjustments if there is inventory that matches your request.

Note: Your current 13 day reservation may even be blocking YC CL room Feb.2024 availability that might be available on your Dec. 2023 trip.

It would need to be available. For my dates in February YC was available, not sure about CL. Not everything is available for all dates.

I was told the same as

i was told the same thing that Dave told you. It seems a lot of CL rooms are not available in the bounce back offer and since you have a 13 day trip planned in Feb 2024 with a reservation for CL, that availability may not be there in February. It does not hurt to ask but I would ha be e a backup plan. I have YC CL WV in October 2023 and will be looking for CL in December 2024 for YC but will also be flexible for BC, and BWI CL. If not available then settle for YC WV or something similar. I am holding 700 in gift cards just in case I can not get CL then I will use that for meals in Dec 2024.

Not that you can even book this far out at the moment, but heads up folks…

From January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Never hurts to ask. But I called to book a bounceback in July, just 4 days after the offer was released. I asked for YC CL. starting the day after Labor Day, or the following week. These 2 weeks are about the slowest of the year. There was nothing CL available.

It's about time Disney gave an actually adequate heads up on a major refurbishment at a resort. Bravo for that.

True. This is major. Didn't they let the BWI guest use SAB in the past when their pool and slide were down? Could the reverse happen during this? Or am I wrong on this?

They have done it both ways in the past. However, there was never this type of notice before. Many people had rooms booked for months before they found out the pool & slide would be closed. So alternative pool options were offered.
Guests at BW weren’t happy that Y & B guests were allowed to use that pool. And guests @ Y & B weren’t happy when BW guests were at their pool. Just a guess, but this announcement so far in advance seems to be a way to avoid that. You will know well before you book what your pool options are. If you want a feature pool with a slide, don’t book Y & B during those months.

Ohhhh, ok. That is different. Ya, I would have to book the BW then, unless they had some extreme discounts for the Yacht and Beach then.

I don’t think I’d book a resort if their feature pool wasn’t open. One of the favorite parts of my daughter’s trips is the pool slide. She absolutely loves it. Especially for Yacht/Beach prices. A lot of people just go there for stormalong bay
Yep. We have went just for SAB. No parks.
