Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hi - New to YC - almost always at POR... with it closed and a last-minute quick trip for me and my husband, we splurged. So excited! I've been scrolling back through, but wanted to ask (see what I missed)... is bus the best way to Magic Kingdom... i.e., does it drop you off at Magic Kingdom versus the TTC? And, if so, when do we need to be in bus line to get in early (our goal is to be at MK at 8/815 am for 9 am opening)? We are going late April, so a bit quieter with Spring Break having died down). Seems like I've read that uber/lyft drop you at TTC and if you drive, you have to park at TTC. Last visit, we took a lyft and picked up a mobile order from Contempo Cafe to walk over to MK, but I've heard that their policy on letting you do that may have changed. Not sure we'd have time for a sit-down reservation at the Wave.

Thanks in advance - and thanks for the tips in this thread; super helpful!

I have no uber/lyft experiences so will offer my bus advice. Bus does drop you off at MK and not TTC.
It's about a 15 - 20 minute bus ride from YC to MK so plan on being at the bus stop around 7:45 AM. Busses should be running by then.

ETA.... And @Wood Nymph is a faster typer than me!

The bus is the best way to get to MK. Just be at the bus stop an hour early and you shouldn't have any trouble getting to MK before rope drop. The morning bus only stops at one resort and then goes directly to MK. It drops you off at the bus depot. :)

Thank you!

Hi Dee, We are finally coming back home to the Beach club 5/30-6/6 if you can add us to the list. We are taking the plunge since we haven't been back since June 2019

Yes, the bus from YC drops you off at the the Magic Kingdom, not at the TTC.

Yes, if you taken an Uber/Lyft, it drops you off at the TTC.

Yes, if you drive you park at the TTC.

Yes, some people have had success doing a mobile order at Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary and having Uber/Lyft drop them off at the Contemporary (so they could walk to MK from there), but also yes, supposedly other people have been turned away by the guard at the gate. I am not speaking from personal experience.

Any one experience capacity issues for Stormalong Bay this week since it is so busy? If so how long were people waiting to get in?
Ww had a very short wait yesterday afternoon. They were checking magic bands, issuing wristbands and then seating each party. Seemed as though there was enough space for more parties to enter after us.

It's so nice to see it busy here again with people reporting about new trips! Of course, that means I have gotten way behind again!

So, a generic :welcome: to our new friends here until I get to your posts.

:grouphug:

My YC dates are correct, my Portofino Bay dates are 5/20 - 5/23. I'm also super happy that my son who is active duty Army is going to be able to join me for a few days that weekend at Portofino Bay. :)

Just wanted to say thank you to your son for his service and to your family for your sacrifices.

We are staying at Yacht Club May 10-15 in a Garden or Woods view room. We decided to bite the bullet and go big. My sister was not feeling Movies at all. LOL. I’ve stayed at Beach Club before, but never Yacht. I am excited. Can someone tell me about the showers? Some pictures, I see a shower and tub combination but some pictures are like walk-in showers?

:welcome: back here!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest we keep on Page 1, Post 15

:cool1:

Hello all you lovely people! We will be staying at BC for the second half of our split stay 02/09-02/16 2022. It's our first time staying there and I've never done a split stay before either. I'm really looking forward to reading through these posts and learning all there is to know about YC & BC! I've already learned a ton from the recent posts regarding walking to HS vs buses, boats, and skyliner. :)

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool2:

Hi everyone! Our June trip ( June 8 - 15) was booked at the Poly, but since it'll still be closed for refurb, we took advantage of the summer promo and switched over to the Yacht Club! I loved my solo stay but it will be the first time there for the rest of the family. My kids have been wanting to try out Stormalong Bay since the first time they saw it...they're 15 and 17 now, but better late than never, LOL!! They love the Poly but were receptive to the switch b/c they knew they could finally get in that pool! (and my 15 year old just likes being able to walk to Japan any time he wants, haha)

:welcome: back!

Great to see you coming again, and bringing the fam!

:dogdance:

Staying at BCV in June, renting points. First time at a deluxe - decided to upgrade after having to cancel last years trip. We wanted to do surrey bikes around the boardwalk last year until plans were canned. Are the surrey bikes available at BW currently?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:thumbsup2

We have a similar trip a few weeks later. I've started some planning but keep switching ideas around. Plenty of time to finalize though!
Thank you for the add. If we go, and I think it is likely, we will be at the Beach Club June 19-26 with a great PIN code deal. My in-laws will also tag along but I haven't seen any discounted BC rooms available in ages. They are currently booked at the YC.

Got it!

I'll pencil you in.

Are you only able to book 1 room with your PIN? I remember in the past you used to be able to use the PIN for more than one.

:cheer2:

Thanks for this thread! We are joining the club. Just moved our reservation to the Yacht Club May 8-16. First time staying in a deluxe, got a good rate with the AP discount, very excited. We are normally Pop Century people, with a moderate thrown in from time to time. But when you reschedule your trip 3 times in the last year (originally April 2020), and it now lands on your 40th birthday week, it's time for a splurge. :) So much info in this thread has answered all of my questions so far. Excited for Stormalong Bay and walking to EP and HS.

:welcome: to this forum.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Glad you have found this thread to be helpful in learning about the resort.

:woohoo:

My husband and I are headed to the YC June 6-11 this year. It will be his first trip but my 20th or so (I usually go with my mom) so I'm hoping to make this as magical as possible for him :) Can you add us the the Be Our Guest list?

Also, a couple of questions for people who have been there recently....I would assume they aren't doing refillable mugs right now, but do you know if you can still buy them in the gift store? Is the Coke freestyle machine working in Ale and Compass? And are there still coffee machines in the rooms and if so are they Keurigs? Is it easy to get extra pods or do you have to bring your own? Thanks so much!

Yes they have the refillable mugs, a CM will give you a fresh drink in a disposable cup that you can use directly or transfer to your mug.

Yes all rooms have coffee and Keurigs pod units and you can request extras since they don't clean your room every day as of now. However mousekeeping may change by June so stay tuned.

REALLY?!?!? I didn't know you could book more than one. I ended up finding a discounted garden view room at the YC for my inlaws so they are all set but I'm dying to do a weekend trip in late April/early May. I may have to poke around and see what is still available.

Thanks so much! Great news :)

I could be wrong, (and someone please chime in if that is the case) but I seem to remember that is how some PINs used to work. I know the person who is named on the pin had to book one of the rooms, but then they could book another at the same discount for another party.

:goodvibes

I read that there is a small lazy river at YC storm-a-long bay... is that true? If so, are we allowed to bring our own noodles to the pool?

I'm excited to be returning to BC May 30-June 3 after several stays at Riviera in the last year. Thank you all for the updates. I suddenly want to book a cabana!

Me, too! I never even thought about a cabana until I started reading this thread... LOL!

Checked in today after a night at BLT. Seeing the Easter eggs in the lobby was a nice surprise, I didn’t think they were doing any this year. Glad @trishadono posted pictures, mine kept coming up sideways. 🙄 Didnt see any eggs at CR, will try to see if Beach Club & BWI have any.

We’re missing club level but at least we got our favorite view looking out at the lighthouse right over the back entrance. I cancelled our cabana rental for Saturday because the high is only predicted to be 70. Even being from Western NY, 70 is not high enough for us to spend the day at the pool. After trying to get thru to the enchanting extras line on the phone for most of the afternoon, I had to get the front desk to cancel it for me. Called about 6 times over an hour with call not even getting thru, then spent 35 minutes on hold without talking to anyone. Did I mention I‘m missing club level? :rotfl2:
I really like the new lobby colors & decor. I sat in the lobby for a bit waiting for my to go order from Ale & Compass & the furniture is a lot more comfortable than the old stuff was.

Tomorrow is DS’s birthday, headed to Studios. 🤞🏻For ROTR for him. Looking forward to riding MMRR for the first time.
